Yes, here in Connecticut, we must be pretty unsophisticated. Here are some quotes from the Hartford Courant article (emphasis is mine):
On the second floor — where Manning lives — officers found what they described as "a high-tech marijuana growing operation." Manning told police that the marijuana-growing operation was his.
Officers found two, 3-foot-tall marijuana plants growing in a closet in the second-floor bathroom. Two large fans and a smaller one blew cool air onto the plants, and high-energy lights shined on them, the report states. A digital thermometer regulated the closet's temperature.
On the bathroom floor officers found two dried marijuana stalks that had been harvested, police said. In a second closet separating the bathroom from Manning's bedroom, police said they found more harvested marijuana plants that were hanging. Those plants also had a fan blowing on them, police said.
