Is 1' x 1' x 2' enough growing space for a 4200 lumens per sq foot 12/12 from seed CFL grow with 50 CFM exaust and modified LST for 1 indica plant

Seems like it should work...never done one that small before, though, so I can't say for sure. And I've certainly never done 12/12 from seed before either.

I say GO FOR IT! bongsmilie

I say that NO....the reason is you have to account pot size... you need at least a 1gallon pot and that is at least 10in tall .... even if you do LST by the time is mature enough to flower your looking at a 1foot tall plant ... 1 foot tall plant+10in pot that leaves you with 2in. for light set-up not to mention the plant stretch during flowering. Then again you could always use clones....then you might be able to pull it off but with 4200 lumens (i try to get at least 8,000 lumen sq/ft)and such a space you would'nt harvest more than a 7 grams or so ...givin the time you would have to wait to 3 months to harvest...would not be worth my time or effort IMO Try 1.5x1.5x3 (L/W/H) that would be a good size box for 1(LST)plant .This is my first grow set-up

Keep in mind this plant stretched TWICE it's size by the time it was done....But shit you dont have to take my word for it...Trail and error buddy do what you thinks right ;)

the box im building now is going to be 4 ft tall for one plant and its going to be green house style with no lights and plexi glass on the top and front is this a good idea ?

Assuming the bare minimum of about 3 or 4 inches for a CFL + socket and 10 inches for your pot you can only grow 9 inches... You could train your plant in a circle around your pot to maximize the use of your width instead of growing vertically. If you top the plant and end up with 2 main colas, wait for the plant to get just below the top of your cab and then tie each stem down along the sides of the bucket. It's easiest to train the right branch going to the left around the bucket and the left branch going across the other to the right around the pot, you'll want to plant in your 10" pot so that the base of your stem is off set towards one side of the pot about 2" off the wall and angle the plant so that the root mass is centered in the pot, fill in with soil. Once you've trained the plant just keep it tied down for the remainder of your grow and all of your other branches should start growing towards the light leaving you with a big cylinder of marijuana by harvest time. bongsmilie

Exactly. That's kinda what I was thinking when I read "modified LST." I've been wondering what could be done with one CFL. 4200 lumens...that's what, a 60W bulb? I assume 2700K? Would be an interesting experiment. I wonder if a shorter, wider pot could be used...to get a few inches more growth space?

Sure, 4200 lumens isn't much. But with the right genetics and some serious LST, I still think it's worth trying.

Yeah you could use a lower sitting pot but idk what kind of problems that would cause with root growth, roots tend to branch out downward and then smaller shoots go out from there, I'd assume a pot thats too shallow would stunt growth in some way

I have 14 inches of grow space 3 feet of gross space, 68 watt 2700 k
Ahhh...I misunderstood. 14 in of actual growing space should be more than enough with some LST. Sounds like your cab might even be a little bigger than some of the pc grow cabs here, so you can probably find some good design ideas from those threads. Good luck...and be sure to post a thread when you get it up and running.:weed:
