not according to the master breeder... kmog33.... f2's are the worst LOL.....

if you want to know how to breed here you go.... watch out he might tell you to go look up a word LMAO.....

Nothing wrong with f2s. Just generally where you hit widespread genetic variation when crossing two stable lines. F1s don't throw out many phenotypes. This is totally irrelevant with polys.

Kinda confused now so poly hybrids are hybrid x hybrid right? And their f1s throw many phenos because of that so what are true f1s ? Because pretty much everything out right now is hybrid or hybrid crossed so f1s are what when u cross two original strains? Like Og 18 x kosher Og = holy grail those are true f1s?

True f1s IMO are the first generation cross of beans from the same mother/father cross or group(if you're doing open pollination)

So with polys the first time you cross X and y you get xy babies. Still a random poly cross.

When you take those xy babies and cross them, those xxyy babies are your f1s.

The only f1's that have 2 phenos are ibl's. F1's can have anywhere from 3 - 20 phenos
according to hyroot, its not just 2-3 phenos...

irrelevant?? LOL,,, everything is a poly out there, just like kgp said...
like i said before.... a LEGIT breeder once told me... everything we have now, is from the handful of seed companies when this first started....
so yeah. technically everything is inbred..

It's a low amount of phenos. With true ibls they're should be 3 main phenotype groups. Some like mom , some like dad, and some a mutt of the two. There may be minor variations within those groups but essentially three main phenotypes.

Irrelevant with polys because when you cross a poly with a poly you have such a widespread clusterfuck of genetic variation in the first generation it's not at all like breeding with landraces or ibls.

And a cross being inbred at somepoint is very different from a cross being an ibl.

Same mother/father huh what do u mean every generation has that..open pollination would mean more fathers n mothers now I'm really confused

A true f1 is when 2 homogeneous plants are bred. A homogeneous plant is usually a ibl, worked like, or landrace. A homogeneous plant can basically reproduce with very little variation. Crossing 2 homogeneous plants should produce a mix of 2 plants with little to no pheno variation. Now when you breed the siblings, the f2s favor mother or father and this is where you choose your stock to what you are looking for in a plant and can basically work the line. F1s are also very vigorous compared to worked lines or ibls.

Here you go beemo and to continue

"Variability in this case refers to the range of different phenotypes that will express when hybridising two different strains; predictability refers to the expected distribution ratio of the different phenotypes. When crossing stable parents, Mendelian inheritance dictates that: 50% of the offspring will resemble both parents equally, 25% will express traits closer to the mother and 25% closer to the father."

this is a good way to start learning.... not info on a website... if your serious buy books....
i know breeders that have this book....

So crossing f1s with f2? Or what lol or just crossing from the same seeds
get the f1 stuff outta your head, think human

mom & dad have 2 kids
2 kids get married and have 2 kids or put differently,,,
brother takes a wife and has 2 kids
sister takes a husband and has 2 kids
the brother is now an uncle to the sisters two kids and sister is an aunt to brothers 2 kids
the kids are now cousins
crossin the cousins will get you fire bud, I've been doin this for years 8)

Yes I really wanna learn for the future when I'm not worried about side loot or weight I wanna be able to have my own stable stock also thanks to everyone who is participating I barely know anything so I'm kind of lost but I will catch on eventually

It's nice to have that Liberty when you're proven wrong. So you don't take anything I say seriously. And you don't take documented sources of info seriously either.... Also when kgp agreed with what I was saying and sourcing in the post I quoted, you didn't take that seriously either?

Seems like you got some denial going on bean.

so just continuing the generation basically right then crossing within the generation so what do u do with all the other seeds lol?
