no shit, huh? nothing i've grown looks like that in 21 days.

i've been meaning to look for his fog towers bloom video. wonder what that all costs? you'd save a ton just on nutrients running such a low ppm

Its just hpa with a 1000psi (70 bar) patio misting pump. One guy used two pressure washer pumps to run a vertical A-frame setup, bet that was seriously loud at 2am ;)

I've listened to the few warnings I've been given and prepared for failure.

I've doubled the amount of sprayers per bucket from 2 to 4 incase of any becoming plugged. I think each bucket is fine with 2 but now 2 can fail and still be working at pace. I also purchased a 40 pack of misting heads so I can replace while cleaning.

I'm going to transfer today from the cloner to the main system. I have 12 possibles but only 8 spots so I'll keep 4 going in the cloner incase.

The big difference is there is a lack of pressure build up to fill the accumulator, turn off the pump and then run off the tank.

I tested it and the psi is 90 something because the switch is set for 100 and when I disconnect the valve the pump only stay on for about 30 sec and the guage barely moves.

15 seconds of mist with double the nozzles is probably into monsoon territory, i was thinking just a second or two.
A 3gallon accumulator running 90-100psi should hold around a litre of nutes. At 80-100 it would be 2L. I would charge the tank until the pressure switch cuts the pump and make a note of the cut-out pressure. Dump the tank contents into measuring jug, ideally parked on a digital scale, to find out exactly how much it holds.

You are definitely right that 15 seconds is to long. When the 5 minute off cycle is over the roots are still dripping. Got lucky last night or this morning. Went outside and the breaker went off on the power strip. One plant bn was dropping but I turned on the timer for 1 minute on and 5 minutes off and 30 minutes later all was good. Hopefully I didn't damage the roots to much.

I think I'm going to get a ups for the hpa pump that way if a breaker pops or we have a power loss the roots will still be safe. I'm even thinking of running it off of solar and storage battery.

I never use more than 3 seconds of mist even on outdoor units in full sun. I`d try to figure the shortest mist pulse your nozzles will handle that still fills the chamber with mist and go from there. It shouldnt be anywhere near 60 seconds ;)

Out of curiosity, what do you use? I do 5 seconds on 8 minutes off but I was wondering if I should do shorter intervals like 3 seconds on and 5 minutes off. I don't have a pressurized tank so I figured that for now I would do longer intervals to save the pump.

You also need time to pressurize your system when you dont run a tank. Two of the biggest reasons, I read, for having the tank is to run the pump less and to your point to pre-pressurize the misting system. I would assume it's taking a second or two to pressurize the system, you should check?

No it's pretty much instant unless I empty the res and it runs dry. The only reason I was thinking to get a tank is to save the pump but I don't really know if it's worth it or to just get a spare pump.

With just a pump you`ll have less control, if you compare the amount of liquid delivered from 2 seconds of mist with a pump and 2 seconds from an accumulator / solenoid you`ll see the difference in liquid volume and in the mist response. Saving wear and tear on the pump is fine, taking it to the extreme, you could say throwing a gallon over the roots once a day is aero, its just 500 mist pulses in one go instead of seperate ;)
