Hello everyone. This is going to be my first grow journal, second grow.

Please subscribe to this, you will be the reason it gets updated more often. I want to update at least once a week, but if I have a lot of subscribers, I'll have more the reason to update it more frequently.

If you would like to see my current ongoing grow right now, click : HERE
(Feel free to leave comments on the pictures)

The strain I'm going to be using this time, is called
Critically Smashed. It's a White Rhino x Critical Mass cross.

There haven't been too many complete start to finish journals with this strain; so I'm going to try to have one - Seed to harvest.

The seeds are something that Dr. Chronic shipped free with orders of seeds in the past. He got them from a guy in Spain. So there isn't really a good seed information page about THC, flowering time, yield, etc.

I started a thread about it : HERE.
Some people posted good enough information about it to convince me to grow it.

I'm very active in the LiveChat
, and someone offered to give me some free seeds. They will remain nameless. (I hope others who know will not expose him). He grew the strain, and accidentally left a male in with the batch, right near the fan. To quote him tonight :"<******> blew pollen all over shit"

I received the seeds in the mail yesterday, and dropped them into a water bottle last night. Set it on my cable box to keep it warm, and around lunch time today- took them out and laid them on a paper towel. To my surprise, in less than 24 hrs, 2 seeds have already popped.

I set up the paper towel in a plate, put a bowl over it, and they're still sitting on my cable box.

I'm started 10 seeds, hoping with at least a 50% female plants.

I'm intending to use the following:

  • FoxFarm: Ocean Forrest-
    - This will be a 50/25/25 mix of Soil, Vermiculite, and Perlite. Also, a few scoops of ground kelp.

  • FoxFarm: Nutrient Trio-
    - This is the FoxFarm line of Nutrients which features: Grow Big, Big Bloom, and Tiger Bloom.

  • Vegging (View my other grow for my CFL Setup)
    - 8-27Watt, 5500K CFL's-
These will be used for the veg plant growth only. I do have a 400watt Metal Halide that might not be utilized until my next grow.
    - I will probably veg for 50-55 days. Hoping for pre-flowers by this time.

  • Flowering
    - Right now I have (2) 400Watt HPS that I could use. I'm debating about getting a nice 600Watt HPS with my tax return. Once the time comes to flower, I will update this.
I know it's still VERY early to be taking pictures, but I'm so amazed that over night these seeds cracked. So, here's a few pics:

Alright. 2nd update here on the 'Critically Smashed'.

As posted in my prior thread, you saw the pics with the 2 seeds popped. The day following that post, 4 others were cracked - and as of right now, 6 seeds are planted, 5 are seedlings.

I put the 6 plants that are planted into their veg box, under a few 27watt, 5500k CFL's. They will remain here for about 30 days, and I'm thinking under 400watt metal halide for the last 15 days of veg. (I think I'm going to stick to a 45 day veg from now on)

There are 4 seeds still germinating, one is going to be planted after this post because it's taproot is long enough.

I took some pictures of the pots all setup, before the seeds were in it, just for everyone to see what I'm doing.

I might be canning the other 3 seeds that haven't germinated yet - It's be 4 days now. I'll replace the 3 with new seeds. My intent is to start 10 plants.

They will remain in the 4in square pots for probably 3 weeks. After the 3 weeks, I haven't picked out the pot size I want to use. The last grow I used 2 gallon pots, and realized that I didn't need pots that big. I'm going to try 1.5 gallon sized pots if they are available.

I'm a stoner, and I'm not actually going to keep track of this. I will TRY to have weekly updates. I still have another harvest going, and thats much more important to me than this.

The one with the bottle cap in it, is a Citral Kush that I got from a buddy. That was planted just last night.

These are what they looked like this morning:

2-16 update

Plants are looking pretty uniform, yes there are a few with size differences, thats due do different germinating times of the seeds.

Bottom right with bottle cap is still the Citral. It seems to be going slow.

its like day 15/16, At day 21 they are going into one gallon pots, and nutes will be started.

At day 30, they will be moved to basement, and put under MH for another 15 days to complete their 45 day veg cycle.

This is them 15 days after being in soil.

Just an update. Letting everyone know I just switched them to the 18/6 lighting schedule.

There are still only 6 CFL's in the box right now, I'm thinking thats enough until I transplant into gallon pots next week.

I'll be adding 4 more CFL's, so there will be 10x 27watt 5500k CFL's in the veg box.

Once the plants get about 8-10 inches, they will be moved down to my other veg box, where they will veg for whats remaining of the 45 day cycle.

Once they are moved down into the other box, I will then start germing another 10 seeds.

I'm hoping by the 45 day mark I will have definitive pre-flowers, and will pull my males.

I think I might be over watering a bit right now. Going to slow down. It's not how often I've been watering, it's how much I've been giving them. They seem like they drink a TON, and need a lot of water to keep any weight to the pot.

No problems yet. Leaves look pretty healthy, good shade of green. Looks like we're going to have some MASSIVELY HUGE fan leaves..

New pics in 7 days! They might be transplanted in the next pics.

So far so good man. Plants are lookin so healty just the way I remebered them growing when a has a select few seeds. The first fan leaves get huge at 22 days mine were over 10 inches long and super fat like yours are starting to do. I am watchin this grow closely.

2/23 Update

Pics were taken 20 minutes prior to this post.

Transplanted on Saturday 2/21.

Looks like there isn't any transplant shock. The day after they were transplanted they looked better already. They are in 1 gallon pots, I MIGHT change to bigger ones depending on how they look when I want to flower. I have no height restraints, but would just like another short crop, seems easier to monitor and work with.

I still have a bunch of the 2 gallon pots kicking around from the other grow, so if things take off like crazy, ultimately I will transplant ONE more time. (IF NEEDED)

Still drooping like I'm over-watering on some. Dunno why. Pretty sure I'm not.

Today I started 1/4 strength of Fox Farm's Grow Big. In conjunction with the Grow Big, I will be using the Big Bloom every other feeding.

The way I nute & water is in this pattern - Water, nute, water, water, nute, water, water, nute. Hopefully this gets me through my 2nd grow.
_______________________

I acquired a tub of the Fox Farm Beastie Bloomz also. I know this is only for flowering, I'm going to get all 3 of them by the time I flower this crop.
(By 3 of them I mean the Fox Farm's Cha Ching, Beastie Bloomz, and Open Sesame)

Sorry I got lazy. Typical Stoner.

This is day like.. 40.

They are still under like 10 CFL's, and then I threw an old fluro light in there, just for side lighting.

Got them in a little grow 'cabinet' thing I made for them. Probably going to leave them in here for another 10 days, hoping for pre-flowers then.

Flowering in 10 days though!

Today is day 46 of Veg. They are about 8-10 inches tall.

They are now taking full strength Fox Farm nutrients.

I think I'm going to skip out on the Tiger bloom this grow, and just use the open sesame instead. I've heard it's easy to over-nute with the open sesame, so cutting out the Tiger Bloom I think will be a less chance of nute problems.

Notice the Citral (image name: P1040281.jpg ), it is Tri-foliar. Looks pretty neat. Would be cool if this lasted all through flower, but I heard that's rare.

One week into flowering I'm most likely going to chop off the bottom 2 nodes of the plants, maybe keep some clones from definite females. I'm doing it to get rid of the undergrowth - so the plant will focus it's energy to more promising bud sites up top. I FIM'ed at 7th node, so when I chop the bottom 2, I'll still have 5 nodes of growth.

Lookin good Zave. The last plant you held up seems to be suffering from a magnesium def by the looks of a few leaves. Overall it looks very good.

You are going to be REALLY happy with the critically smashed. it is a fantastic high... a more euphoric couch lock.

I love how both CS I have grown stayed around 20" tall. It makes a great cabinet strain for this reason... with no sacrifice on quality.

Enjoy that shit!

Big up!
