critical cheese auto sick plants

I am on day 29 and my plants have had a bit of a rough journey, (i am new to all this)

growing in a tent

  • 1.2m x 1.2m x 2.0m
  • 600W Lighting Kit

    using gold lablel special mix
. It’s a complete mix, ready for use. Special Mix contains nutrients for almost a complete crop cycle.

at day 17 plants didnt look to bad , had a problem of leaves curling on the edge , but they looked healthy.

at day 21 i returned from being away for the weekend , to find the plants looking a bit dry , so i decided to give them a good soak , and there first dose of nutrients canna terra flores. 25ml/ 5 liters water
i had done this with a previous crop of blue northern lights and blue diesel and they liked a good soak

24 hrs later , disaster ,
the plants looked wrecked , i thought i had killed my crop, i lost a lot of the bottom leaves of the plants

i have cut the watering back drastically, and not added any more nuts ,
im at day 29 today , they seem fine except for some browning of the edges of a few leaves.

any advise on how much nuts and how often would be appriciated
the manufacturer recommends 25 ml / 5 litres

What's the temp like in there? The 600 might be a bit much, don't know how close you got it to them, but I burned small plants with just a cfl before. Also couldn't hurt to flush em wait and see.

Tent is a bit cool if anything, I have cut nutrients down to 15ml per 5 litres, they seem to be recovering from the overwatering and starting to bud , the light is about a foot away from the plants

Never listen to what the manufacturer says, listen to your plants! Don't go straight in at full strength nutes!

It looks like heat stress to me, your plants improved because you gave them a good drink of water.

12" is far too close for a 600w, put the back of your hand 12" away from the light and you will feel it get very warm quite quickly. You need that light to be 18" away from the plants as they will be getting a lot of radiant heat from the lamps. You may think that your tent temperature is ok but the plants will be getting too hot!

besides some heat stress and nutrient problems they look fine. plants will usually droop a bit after a watering then spring back afterwards if you watered them really well. also plants need a good soaking whenever you water them. you want to get runoff from the bottom of the pots helps keep the salts out of the soil. autos tend to like the dryer part of the wet/dry cycle i hear.

also its hard to diagnose leafs with a HPS on because of the coloring.

I will get a hygrometer in the next couple days, so I can monitor temps and humidity,
I have been reluctant to give them a good soak since the overwatering at 21 days
I have been watering them with no run off, 2-3 litres per day between the 5 plants with nutrients at 50% of manufactures recommended dose
Next time i water i will increase it to get a little run off.
Autos do seem to prefer the dryer side of the watering cycle.
Although my previous crop of auto northern lights blue and auto blue diesel were no where near as fussy as the crytical cheese

You would be better to water them every 2-4 days and allowing them to dry out a bit in between, this encourages the roots to spread out to find water giving a larger root system. Watering a little and often is ok when they are seedlings to small plants.

Some plants can be really fussy so it's best to stick to something easy that you know for the first few grows until you get a better understanding of how plants grow.

They are looking good though, I hope you get a nice return on them.

day 37, I have leaves curling down on the edges ,
DSCF6480.jpgDSCF6481.jpgDSCF6483.jpgDSCF6485.jpgDSCF6486.jpgDSCF6490.jpgDSCF6491.jpg

yesterday i noticed the curling down on the edges of the leaves. think it might be heat stress , hygrometer is in the post hopefully will arrive today.
am i right in thinking i am looking for temp 24- 27 degrees.

the browning damage to the leaves is from overwatering with full nuts at day 21.

since lowering the nuts to 50% plants seem much better.
I am thinking of upping the nuts dose to 100%

I have also ordered some molasses , to add at 1 tbsp per gallon.

I have added a yeast sugar solution in a demi jar , to produce some more co2 , not sure how benificial this will be , but it cant do any harm

Mate, keep your temperature down to minimum 21 Degrees Centigrade/Celsius at day time. 22 is about perfect I think and at night time do not let that temperature drop below 17 Centigrade/Celsius.

If your temp now is 24 or above turn it down to around 22 and see the improvements. If no improvements with that small but important temp change then you could try flushing your plants to get rid of excess nutes the next time you use nutes try the same amount as now but coz the plants are older you will see prob your nute balance at 50% of the manufactures guidelines is about right for this stage in the game.

BTW I see they are budding so all good so far, not all lost yet, the future is bright for you, just be careful with temps, and nutes.

Oh and test the ph of your feeding water as well. :)

I think cold could be the problem , temp outside at night is o deg at night here in the uk , I think once I get the hygrometer the temps readings are going to be shocking, how low the temps areI have turned the fans down to increase the temp in the tent, come on mr postman wheres my molasses and hygrometer,

sorry try this link , was tired and stoned when i posted ,

temp is 29 , fookin ell week 5 and half and i check the temperature.didnt say i was good at this or preperared.
i have turned timers so both fan inside tent and extraction fan through carbon filter are on all the time the lights are on.

they have respond well to a good water yesterday ,
now water till i get run off , they seem to like the nutrients

made up molasses solution, 1 tbsp dissolve in mug of boiling water added to 5 litres
will be using this on next watering

4 and half weeks to go , they are starting to smell, police making regular foot patrols around area,

2 busts within a mile last , 15 plants in a house and 3 flloors in an old shop ,

That looks ok, not sure how accurate it will be or how long it will last but it's better than nothing. You can buy PH adjusted solution to calibrate it with.

A carbon filter is a must if you live in a built up area, most people get busted because of the smell!! Another thing that works well alongside is an Ozone generator, they are around £60 for a decent one but worth consideration for the future.
