Cree will soon release Deep red and Far Red in XPE-2(current versions are XPE-1)
Up to 68% higher efficiency than competing LEDs
Only LEDs with >3.2 μmol/J PPE at both 660 & 730 nm
•Up to 57% higher minimum flux output
•Lower Vf for improved efficiency
•Enables 3.0 μmol/J full spectrum (W+R) designs
Reference design using the new J series 5630 HE(High efficiency) and the latest 660

We will be converting all our XPE deep and far red boards over to the new chips in 2019
Cheers

Very cool.
I got my far reds covered, UT those heatsinked PCBs look sweet, man.

Nice. What kind of wattage options are available? I've been hoping someone would make some red pucks that would fit on a heat sink.

you mean on the reference design?

Yea, or whatever will be available. If I were building a light right now I would want to mix 660nm and cobs. I would like to see pucks or similar, but strips would work as well. Anything that was 660nm only so I could do the mixing myself. Nominal currents providing 20-60w output would be most versatile.

If these are red/white only that's cool, especially if there will be options... excellent to see products hitting 3 umol/j

See my new build? :-D

Definitely closer to what I'm looking for, but these are a little overkill for my purposes. I want to be able to run four such strips at 10-15 watts per. Looking to add red to a 250w 3000k fixture at a ratio of 15-20% of the main light's max power. The design of my light makes it necessary that I be able to configure the strips in a cross pattern, between the QBs (hence the need for 1' or less).IMAG0261.jpg
I expect I'll probably have to cave and just get some monos to attach to the frame.

Ok so the board I suggest does not need to have 15 leds, we can remove leds anywhere on the board and just drop jumpers in place of the leds, what do you need? Our SOLSKINS with a single line of deep red would have worked beautifully in this frame. Customer just won best flower Canncup under Solskin using the full deep red channel

I want the setup like the reference design with the heat sink. Will you guys carry those?

That's great to know, thanks! The customization makes your lights that much more attractive. The wallet is on lockdown till after Christmas, but as soon as the wife gives the all-clear, I'll reach out. What would you suggest? I'm looking for a mix of 660 and 630, and I'd love to be able to run very low wattage (passively, if possible, but I can heatsink them if necessary).

Thanks again!

No problem happy to make a mix of 660 and 630, let me know when your ready

Well please let me know when you do. I'm ready to order some right now. I love the look of those heatsinks. And with white leds and 660nm mixed on the same sink.

Edit: I'm even down to test them on a grow. Asap...
