Crazy Growth

i know bunches about weed, but never tried growing it myself. I got about a 400w flurescent light but my plant seems to be growning like a tree. the branches and stems like dark red to brown and a lil barky. the branches and mini stems seem to be growing on a tangen, doin there own damn thing. How can i get my baby girl to grow right?

Another question. Ive been growing for about 3 weeks, and still no mini buds. should this be something to worry about??? jw

Are you sure it's a 400w? And flouro? Only 400w flouro I've ever seen or could find online for sale are floodlights and they cost like $1000.

3 weeks of growing, you shouldn't be seeing any buds unless you've got an autoflowering strain... even then, you'd only be seeing the very first signs of pre-flowering.

You won't see buds until you put the plant into flowering.

when should i do this, and what do they look like when the pre flower?

Most indoor growers start flowering when the plants are about 12-18 inches tall. They will double or triple their size during flowering, so you'll end up with 2-4ft plants. with most strains you have to force flowering by putting the plants in a 12/12 light cycle. They will begin to show signs of sex (preflowering) in about 2 weeks. Females have pistils and males have pollen sacks.

Yeah I second this question. I'd buy a 400W HPS over a flood light anyyyy day.

Yeah, not to mention that a 400w flouro w/ fixture is like $1000 or more.

my best advice is read some more literature on this website, check out the grow faQs. then if you still cant find an answer make a thread
