you cant see from my crappy pics what i mean. you can see straight thru to the stalk on almost all the buds, trich production seems low and bulking of buds in anyway doesn't seem to be happening. i just want to make sure im not under feeding or whatever. i give them the recommend dose with every watering. that happens basically every 5-7 days.

If you are 6 weeks from switching to 12/12 then you are approximately 4 weeks into flowering as you have to allow for the 2 week stretching period.

dont worry from the looks of your buds they are looking well and they havent began to swell yet which will happen in the next few weeks. Keep with your current regime as the plants seem to be happy.

Plants don't look sick, what strain are they ? pistils seems to have just started to turn pink.
Sativas take up to 10 weeks if not more ..

A standard INDICA 8week strain can still take 10 weeks of 12/12 in a standard indoor grow. Due to ripening, feeding schedule, stress etc etc.

SATIVA plants pure sativa's will take anything upwards of 14weeks to finish.

? =/ i hope MY buds look that 'crappy' when they're that old! whats the strain? looks like a kush...? you only water them every 5-7 days? i water mine every other day, tho my plants and operation are much smaller (maybe?) then yours..im kinda flyin by the seat of my pants, lucky for me i have friends with great seed strains!

What? The stretch happens during the flowering cycle, not some sort of transition phase that is to be deleted from the time tables. Six weeks is six weeks.

Actually it is some sort of transition phase due to the fact that in nature the daylight time reduces a little each week to get to 12 hours of darkness thus making the plant slowly switch to fruiting.

When you force a plant to switch to 12/12 instead of reducing the hours gradually you have to allow the stretch to slip away IMO and then begin counting otherwise it seems like you are waiting for the plant to finish.

I have not come across an 8week flowering strain yet that is finished at the end of the 8th week of 12/12.

This is something i have found in my own personal experience. But then i grow for myself and not for anyone else so i want it to be as potent as it can be.

Dont get me wrong you can cut a plant down after 8 weeks of 12/12 but IMO you will still have mainly milky trich's whereas i like the ambers.

I guess a plant is done when it's done so time is a little irrelevant, but I have 60, 65 and 77 day strains that my 3 moms give me and I count from the moment I switch to 12/12. I have just never heard of anyone not counting the stretch as the stretch for my strains last 25 days. If I don't count that, then I have a 35 day strain on my hands ;).

Any chance of some clones lol!!!!

35 days now that would be a wicked strain lol!

You are right about a plant being done when its done. I just always allow 10 weeks on my time scale for 8 week strains for my personal taste its just right.

Maybe you could try it homebrewer with some of yours and see what the differences are.

Something else i have found is that the flowering times associated with strains that are given by the breeders are usually the earliest possible harvest time for that perticular strain. Given optimum conditions a flowering plant can easily go longer.

I am currently flowering a NIRVANA PPP that says its 9 weeks for peak so that being the case i should be chopping it down on January 15th 2011 but i have time scaled it to the 22nd. So if it comes in any earlier i will most definately let you know as this will be my first time using this strain. So it is almost like a test case.
Starting tomorrow it gets 1 week of CANNA PK13/14 in its feed then back onto the CANNA A and B for the rest of the duration.
