thanks, all said and done I prolly saved myself $50 or so, but the fun I had building it doubles that. Plus it's built for my operation, not some off-the-shelf unit. We'll have to see what it does for temps in my room. I'm still "renovating" as fast as I can to be ready for 10pm when my lights are supposed to come back on.
Let us know how it works. I'm still waiting on a couple of things before I finish mine. Money, of course.:wall: Then once my current grow is done I'm going to be building a wall in my room. Thats when I'm going to need it more.:peace:

I will. Right now though it's hotter than a mother here where I am (AC can't keep up and it's 80C inside, weather network says "93.2, feels like 100.4") and my room isn't going to be any cooler than what the rest of the house is. I'm almost wrapped up so I'll take some pics and post them up.

Dam thats HOT!! This has been a very mild summer around here. I've only run the AC maybe 10 days. My girls are in the basement so they stay cool enough. Mid 80's with lights on anyway. My biggest problem is humidity. I've already found mold on 2 plants. Every one else seems to be OK for now. Needless to say a dehumidifier is on my list of things to buy as well.

that's funny actually cuz I have to have a humidifier to keep things from getting too dry :P Peak temp before my recent mods was 91.. I'm hoping for mid to low 80's.

Ha ha, you think it's hot?

We just had the first sub-100F in almost three weeks. We had a record low of 87F on Wednesday, but the high still hit 102.

Yah... you can keep that heat in Texas.:peace:

Alrighty, pics are in! lol

I took some more of my room but didn't think they belonged here so if you want to see my setup now then go to https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/215734-bcsavages-first-grow.html
Looks good BCS!! I'll look at the rest.

thanks, if it weren't for this website and an inspirational video on youtube my babies would still be outside at the risk of being catnip.

:o....sorry to barge in here like this cph! There are some great ideas going on in here, that's for sure.......and yeah, yeah about the heat.....we're setting records last week here in the PNW too: Highs and High Lows at night........which brings up ac and it's hot exhaust for me.

Can you guys/gals tell me where/how to tap my ac exhaust into into my regular exhaust? ..... the filter's in the room as my inline fan pulls the air through the filter......and this shit I am growing right now is very dank and just the smell from the ac exhaust is noticable 500++ feet down my driveway.........never an issue before.

I need to redo the whole thing. I want to turn the whole thing around and put the filter in a safe room where the heat can go too, maybe an ozone-generator too if necessary.

Three questions:
1. Can the exhaust air be pushed through the filter the same as being pulled, or are they made to be pulled through? The 'pre-filter' is on the outside is why I have question.......
2. I have the right fans but does anybody know if a squirrel cage fan(1/4 hp), or more specifically a Dayton Blower Fan(yeah, blow) will suck air?? I mean if the right box is put together with the blower inside so it blows out, will it have enough power to suck air into the side openings that would have ducting sealed to it?? Make sense?? Would that burn the motor up?
3. Will the humidity/heat from the ac ruin the filter(s)??

Anybody with any info?? Thanks!!

And cph, if this pisses you off, or anyone for that matter, I 'll delete and start a thread for the info......just thought maybe you guys might know the answers.

Oh, and I love your welding work! I just wish........boy the sh*t I'd come up with, haha!!

Great luck to you!!:weed:

No worries my friend, All are welcome!!

Those must be some stinky girls!! What are you growing?

I can't answer all your questions and what I do say is questionable anyway....

I know the squirrel cage fans move a lot of air. I've seen other people with something simular to what you are talking about.

Best of luck to you too!!!:peace:

Thank you cph! I am coming up with a couple of good alternatives, but still poking around.
Yeah, stinky stinky! NEVER have I had an issue like this, haha. I am growing Serious Seeds AK47 and G13-Labs White Widow, atm. I've done the AK before and it's pretty stinky yet managable...... This WW from g13 is something else--in a great way, albeit the smell....... I grow an SS too that I have kept for years(just a mom atm) with the smell never leaving the room---and without any filter!---until I was harvesting/drying.
Thanks again and I 'll make sure to come back and post a pic of whatever it is I come up with. And if anybody else has any info.......like can these fans pull the air(Sq.cage) and can I push through the filter?
