Hey Rollitupers,

System Issue

My system is a home made bubbleponics system using two 390 gallon per hour pumps pushing a two 6 head splitters and it seems that certain heads are not getting the amount of water as the other ones... i have checked for clogged passages and what not and that is not my issue. Anyone have any good advice to get better flow?

Lighting Issue

Second question. I currently have 12 clones in this exact same set up and am using CFL 3x300w lighting but am looking to upgrade to HPS. My enclosure is rather small it is a 4x3 by 10 foot tall closet. What is the recommended wattage for plants in early veg for a space this small.

Mineral Buildup Issue

Finally i have a third question. I am using a plethra of organic nutrients that i got from the local hydro shop. (Botanicare grow, B1, Silica blast, Hydrofarmer Nuts, Cocowet and a couple others) One of these is leaving some sort of protein or calicium residue on my clay ball medium. Does anyone know if this is affecting the plants and furthermore if so how do i rid myself of this headache.

on your lighting issue.

if you have a good exhaust fan, than for veg. i would use a 400watt metal halide.
for flower i would go with a 600 watt hps but you could get by with a 400watt hps.

if you dont want to get 2 seperate ballast then get a switchable ballast that will run either mh or hps bulbs. i beleive you can get a 600/600w mh/hps or a 400/600w mh/hps.

you could get a 600w hps ballast and then also get a conversion bulb so you could use a mh bulb for veg. in the hps fixture. then switch to the hps for flower.

Would that not be too hot for my small room? My heat is pretty constant at 75 F right now.

well the length and width is cutting it close but you have a high ceiling. it can be done but your are going to need a real good exhaust system with a passive intake.
you are also going to want to get a cooltube or an air cooled hood. with proper venting and aircooled hood your temp should only get a couple of degrees higher than the air coming in. here is a cooltube that i made. its the first one i built so i have made improvements to it since the pic.
