Couple days in drying (humidity stuck at 59-64%)

I finally harvested my power kush strain, I left alil bit of the sugar leaves on to use for sum wax or extra thc count. I have the bubs still on stems suspended on thread in a small bedside drawer With a 6" blower fan exhausting air out. I came home and the humidity level is stuck at 59-64%. I can't get it under 59 , I had a slight grass smell to dem but mostly pine. I don't want to lose my harvest at the end , should I be worried and try to lower the humidity or remove the sugar leaves or will the smell go back to all pine

The problem is that they aren't getting enough air. Your exhaust set-up moves air out, not in. Have you ever tried to use a cardboard box for drying? It's a handy little system that allows for great air flow. You cut slots into the top edge of the box and run your string from slit to slit, making a string grid across the top of the box. (I've used dental floss and florist wire when I didn't have the right kind of string) Then you hang your stems down into the box from the string. Set the box in a dark closet for a few days, until your stems snap and the weed feels dry on the outside but still has moisture on the inside, which tells you it's time to move them to jars or plastic containers for curing.

I prefer to slow dry my bud with water leaves on, unless its used in BHO or cooking, a slow/long dry makes it a very very smoooooooth smoke, so if its about 65-75% just add an extra week or too, unless you are in a hurray , ....no bid deal unless you got mold or 2-3 weeks of rain coming ....RELAX!

Apparently it isn't, if you're trying to reduce your humidity level. But I agree with Vostok. In fact, I've used the slow method for at least a decade now, where I hang the whole plant without doing any cutting. It's much easier and produces a better tasting bud. I've found, though, that most newbies are in too much of a hurry to do anything the slow way. So if you want to reduce your humidity in that drawer, you need to increase the air exchange. Are you keeping the drawer closed? Stealth issue? If stealthy isn't the issue, then leave the drawer partially open. You want a dark room, though, so you might have to cover any windows to that room. (Easier to move it to a closet, imo)

As for the smell, that's a tough one to comment on. Too many variables. Increase your air flow and see if it gets rid of the grassy smell. That may just be coming from the moisture that is inevitably penetrating the wood inside the drawer (assuming it is wood??)

Dat can be true cuz wen I smell da actual buds I get a pine smell but wen i smell in the drawer I get da grass smell so it can be the wood but I'll stick to the slow method wat humidity levels should I watch out for

The slower the dry the smoother the smoke. My last batch took 3 weeks to properly dry up. I live in VERY high humidity.. Your method of drying appears to be VERY proper. A small circulating fan is all you need.

The grass smell is from the leaves losing it's chlorophyll(The green stuff in the leaves)...

So I should leave it da way it is now? If so thanks guys just was making sure I did it right , dey still moist only been drying for a full day now and I'm keepin it at 59-64 rh if that's correct

Yeap you're doing good... Patience my friend... The better it dries the more awesome it's gonna be.

Ahh! Of course! I feel like an idiot for not thinking of that. LOL That's exactly what it is. I remove nearly all the leaves when I hang my plants because I dry the trim separately for oil, so I don't get that grassy hay smell.

And, yes, a circulating fan will help him out but he needs to leave the drawer open at least a little so that the air can circulate (with or without a fan) Seems to me that pulling the air out and not allowing for intake of fresh air just isn't a good idea - not even with a slow dry. Fresh air during drying and curing is critical, in my experience.

Nothing idiotic about it, it's hard to remember every little thing... i just told someone by mistake that 6.0 PH was a "tad to high for soil"..... A pure dyslexic moment. I entirely meant to say "a tad to low".

Give yourself a break. =)

No break needed. I actually enjoy it when I am wrong or when I overlook something or when I learn something new. LOL It keeps me from getting bored.

Btw, you DID correct your moment of dyslexia, didn't you -- or did you leave the poor guy hangin with bottle of pH UP in hand? (jk. I'm sure you corrected yourself, but how horribly funny if you didn't! Just awful.)

Just to let everyone know da environment , It's a 2 slide out drawer. Slides and bases removed so it's an empty drawer, kept bottom drawer door for stealthy look, top drawer door removed so I can access. I have 2 cut openings in the back, about 36 Sq inches in passive airflow and a six inch blower blowing out thru the front top drawer door opening is .
