Could someone please tell me what those nice brown balls are called that everyone use

that everyone uses in their DWC systems. I have been reading up pretty extensively as I wait for my precious skittles to come in the mail... however no one seems to acknowledge those ity bitty things. Many thanks

expanded clay pellets, I think hydroton may be a brand name.

straight from wikipedia.....Baked clay pellets, also known under the trademarks 'Hydroton' or 'Hydrokorrels' or 'LECA' ("lightweight expanded clay aggregate"), are suitable for hydroponic systems in which all nutrients are carefully controlled in water solution. The clay pellets are inert, pH neutral and do not contain any nutrient value.
