.. or maybe not.. after the raid, it was found the only thing the couple were guilty of was having a hydroponic veggie garden..
there was a thread on here the other day about buying from local hydro stores instead of online, and i had said in that thread about how cops used the tactic of sitting up shop in hydro stores parking lots, and running tags and taking down people's name that they saw going in and out of said stores, and how this was a some what common tactic that had made the local news papers a few years ago around this area.. after reading the article, this is what is said to have gotten this family on to the police's radar to begin with..
after running their tags and getting their names from seeing them purchase equipment from a hydro store, the police later did a trash pick up on this family 3x's, the fist finding nothing, and the second and third time, they were said to have found plant material that later tested to be cannabis, but some how they did not have any photo evidence of either the plant material, nor the results..

Nothing was filed and she is an attorney, the suit is by them seeking damages for violation of their rights. It was dismissed but on appeal allowed to go forward from what I read. Hope they win.

They damned well better! The cops basically fucked up the whole thing from one end to the other and they know they're in deep, deep shit. The first dismissal was due to the judge bring sympathetic to the cops and that's why the appeals court overturned the decision.

I've been wondering what was happening with this case. There's a lot of retired Federal government employees in Kansas. Dumb fucking cops should have known better!

The judge that signed that warrant got burned too. My guess is he will be a lot less likely to take their word for results and will require lab copies etc...

Oh yeah...

That couple is going to have a very nice retirement soon, because A. They're going to get a shit pot full of money, and B. The cops will leave them the fuck alone after this, no matter what!

All the best to this family. I appreciate articles like this that let me know what NOT to do. I very rarely go to the hydro store, and the rare times I do, I park at least a block away. I never throw out hot trash in my garbage cans, etc.. When they bring me down it will probably be a high-tech way, tracking cc purchases, detecting my HPS lights' sine wave signature and on/off schedule on the smart grid, whatever. Either that, or an idiot neighbor burning the building down. That seems most likely at this point...

if they would have ran his or his wife's plates, they would have come back with a federal affiliation.

and depending on his still available clearance maybe nothing at all.

when you retire, you can be recalled: so your clearance level lowers over time. even if he was retired for 20 years they still come up affiliated.

Not if they don't want to be...

I wonder what they did for the CIA. I never worked for LEO yet I knew better than to visit ANY hydro store and finally when I did it was a very long way away and I made sure my house was spotless for years afterward. I actually grew tomatoes, just like they began :)
