While lurking in the officer.com forums I came upon this Legalization of MJ thread... and I have to say, I'm heartwarmed by the attitude of most of them, they seem to be more accepting nowadays... kinda makes me feel good. Though you will see some bad apple responses.

Decriminalization of marijuana - Police Forums & Law Enforcement Forums @ Officer.com

"And yes a THC level at 20% is basically a hallucinogen."

Had my friends car boxed while driving, a cop came over, we opened our window (My window to let the smoke leave in a better way) and then his window, the cop just looked at us and said "You were going a bit over the speed limit, slow down a bit" So we just said alright, and wished him a good night, and that was the end.

Hopefully they are calming down on it.
Now those damn security guards and shit we have are really anal.

Well personally, I don't like people driving stoned it isn't near as bad a drunk but still.

They have an on the spot test for THC that could use some improvement but I wish would get more mention in the "Stoned driving" argument.

It is such a waste of tax payers money to fight pot.

I read the thread name and had to smile.
As though it were some goverment conspiracy to specially breed cops to gain intelligence over time through bizzare genetics etc etc

Cops are the man at their job, but I think the most creative and intelligent minds are always working against the law, perhaps not so but a fair few factors would point to that being the case

i like walkin around with my friends when im high its a better experience than driving espically if its in a forest. And yes it is a waste of tax payers money we could put it towards the gas problem than busting someone for an ounce.

There has been plenty of research to inquire if being under the influence of pot affects your ability to operate a vehicle or heavy machinery. Surprisingly, some experts claim that it does not. I think its more of a person to person thing, some people can, some can't. I personally do alright, occasionally the ol' zone outs attack and I miss my turn, but thats about the worst of it.

some say that pot can slow down the perception of time. That allows your brain to process more info in a given time but what do I know. I do know that any hand eye stuff I do is better if I smoked

I can't find the page I came across a while ago but there was a website I came across that linked me to a lot of studies done on how marijuana affects your ability to drive and a lot of the studies actually found that a stoned driver recognizes he is slightly impaired and compensates for it and is less likely to take risks. These studies were done with people who were moderately stoned. Not completely blitzed to where you couldn't walk...

I've driven while stoned and blitzed and could drive just fine. I never once ran a red light, swerved, or hit anything. I even had a deer jump out and almost hit me but I reacted quick enough to avoid it and maintain control of the vehicle without putting others in danger while completely blitzed. It's not for everyone though. Some people just can't function while stoned at all. You just need to know your limits.

Add to this, in these tests they normaly give the THC to people who are not used to it... remember your first time getting stoned?... how well do you think you would have driven?

What pisses me off is the government thinks the law saves us from ourselves. that in its self is wrong and against the constitution. and on the other hand how is locking potheads up with violent criminals saving us? i don't need a person to police my personal habits. if i wanted to kill myself with prescription drugs who cares? prohibition doesn't work it just makes potheads look like criminals when the government is really the criminal.

"... I will make a lock up off of a roach" that kinda pisses me off
Im pretty sure the guy that said that advocates lowering the punishment.
He was also talking about because of the laws in his state he has to arrest someone.
That seemed like one of the better cops posting

Back in November somebody snitched on me for growing a little reefer, had my house raided, thrown in jail, computer and cell phone taken which I just got back a weekago, a bunch of other things that they just so happened to lose, 900 dollars that I was about to give my dad for our family costa rica trip which they didn't report. All they found was under an 8th which was enough to charge with conspiracy to grow. all I grew was 3 oz of person bud and because some punk ass who I was best friends with girlfriend doesn't like me got him to snitch me. So now I have a year of drug court which means 3 days a week group counseling for 3 hrs a day, random drug tests, visit probation off once a month and go to court weekly, attend no less than 3 aa or na meetings a week, and pay 500 bucks for this program. If I fuck this up I get 5 yrs in jail now do u really think I deserve this for an eighth of weed? I think not.

I was going to paste in this same post to rag in it. If the weed is poorly grown then how could he even have any "drug induced" anything?

Screwed for the rest of his life? I'd say he's been huffing or something like that.
