Cop Parked Across The Street

Serve and Protect issue: Every week, Tampa Police handle over 11,000 CALLS FOR SERVICE (meaning someone calls the police needing help).

http://www.tampagov.net/appl_police_calls_for_service/frmCallsList.asp

Seems like Tampa sure is serving and protecting, also... go to your local ghetto and watch the cops make a bust on a gang house, that's serving and protecting too.
HAHAHA you ever been to Tampa? ever talk to a Tampa PD? or a FLA state trooper? haha

thanks man.. that shit was funny, made my day..

Tampa PD, serve and protecting.. haha god damn..

That's awesome, laughing about someones son/daughter/husband/wife being killed... lemme know when your mom dies, I'll laugh at her expense. :wall:

Oh, and one last point Louis... lemme know when you hear about a construction worker, pizza boy, or gas station attendant running to a gunfight, bombing, whatever... because that's what police do.

the dude in the blue shirt obviously works at a gas station. :-P

That's what I was thinking. I deal with florida highway patrol at least once a month.
For the record, I have nothing but love for firefighters. They save lives everyday and they are in it for the right reasons.

Stress induced? And how do you know the trooper caused the wreck?

Love how you resort to calling me a monkey when your points are obsolete, be gone now.
Well, if you can read between the lines, you would know it.

He tried to pass another vehicle. You think someone saw a cop trying to pass them and sped up? No. And police are glorified in the news, so if his blues were on, the article would of said he was responding to a call, and not just on patrol. Plus they never mentioned the other vehicle. If it would of been the other drivers fault his face would of been smeared all over that article, and it would of mentioned he was in custody.

No way to prove it, but that's enough circumstantial evidence for me. I'll let everyone else decide for themselves.

Don't hate the cop...
Hate the game.

Good luck.

You've got a great head on your shoulders unlike most folk on this thread. I am very forthright with my thoughts and opinions, no matter if it's the real world or an internet message board, so of course I take partial blame for the tone of this thread as well, in my opinion the tone of my posts is one that gets readers thinking... and hopefully changes a few viewpoints.

But hey, it's the internet, don't get mad... don't get upset... just discuss your opinion in whichever way you feel most comfortable. As for Tampa PD, no I don't know any officers there, but looking at their call logs I can clearly see they are out protecting and serving, to say otherwise is just blindness.

About the firefighters, well... they're out there of course... but most of the time they're in the station house, eating good meals and watching TV while the police are always out and about. Plus, you never see FF's or EMTs going into a situation where police are needed first, it's always the cops that go in and make sure it's safe for the other rescue personnel to go in.

And last, about Trooper Lane... there's nothing in the article that says anything other than two vehicle collided and wrecked, therefore you cannot state any further as that would only be speculation. On patrol
could be enroute to a call, who knows...

The Policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.
“Step forward now, Policeman,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To my church have you been true?”
The Policeman squared his shoulders and said,
“No Lord, I guess I ain’t,
Because those of us who carry a badge,
Can’t always be a saint.”
I’ve had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was rough.
And sometimes I’ve been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny,
That wasn’t mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
When the bills would get too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I have wept many tears.
I know I don’t deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.
If you have a place for me here Lord,
It needn’t be so grand.
I’ve never expected, or had too much,
But if you don’t, I’ll understand.
There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the Saints had often trod.
As the Policeman waited quietly,
For the judgement of his God.
“Step forward now, Policeman,
You have bore your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven’s streets,
You’ve done your time in hell.”

Is anything wrong with being an unknown friend of police?

I believe I am polite, but not necessarily friendly to bad cops.

I've been beaten up plenty enough to know I don't want no more of that.

Lol, I hate criminals, ironicaly, if it wasn't for the whole prohibition thing, I'd have liked to become a cop... at least they would have had one guy with a brain then.

should, but because of the gang mentality in the PD it won't happen.

If a good cop arrests a bad cop, he is tagged as a "Whistle blower" and the rest of the PD will do whatever is neccesary to get him off the farce.

I'd be careful, I had cops parked outside my place for 3 days. They were documenting how many people came and left my premises. I had parties at my house on an almost nightly basis for 3 years, but the surveillance started when my temporary roommate hosted a pro-hemp rally in the courthouse square park. They documented groups of people going back and forth between the hemp rally and my house (they were preparing food for the rally), and watched my house 24/7 for 3 days after (in marked police cars). I found out later that my house was going to be raided, and the only reason it wasn't was because my roommate's mom ran the county planning dept., where the police get the floor plan records before they raid a place. She was the highest ranking female in the county and recognized that the address requested was where her son was staying and assured the police there was no dealing being done there.

This was in California before the medical marijuana law took effect. Better safe than sorry, just make sure you're compliant and make sure you don't have anything else they can do you for. If you have lots of friends coming over it does raise suspicion.

Basically my place was going to be raided because my roommate organized a pro-hemp rally.

Cheers,
Acidking

(edit) Coincidently - The police organized an "awards" ceremony directly across the street on the courthouse lawn at exactly the same time as the hemp rally, an excuse to have the entire county/city police force on hand to view everyone who attended, I can only assume it was so they'd be able to recognize (harass/search) people in the crowd if they were stopped for anything in the future.
