Cooler Lid Construction Question

so I have a question about the material you guys use to make lids. I made one lid from a foamboard that was foil backed already, this made it so I didn't have to tape it up, after that lid I pretty much gave up on building my own and just pop holes in the fidy dollar shiny new cooler.oh I'm stoned and forgot the question! So why don't you use the foamboard that's already backed?

Mine was the foil-backed 2in thick, but the foil was hella thin and peeled off with the slightest scrape.
And in my case, it was rated the highest.
Something like $25 for a 4ft x 8ft sheet if I remember correctly.

Right on. I did notice what you're saying about it being thin.
