Cool tube setup??

i seen a lot of setups with passive intake in the tent while running a cool tube that also acts as the exhaust.

So i was wondering do they actually stay cool when their set up like this?

I made this picture to better show what i mean.

I kinda hope someone has some info on this as it seems like a pretty easy setup and i have everything to do it being shipped to me right now.

if not i suppose i could try a different way... just trying to think up ideas before the stuff gets here

Thats pretty much my setup. Yes it stays cool theres plenty of air flow, you have to make sure the ambient temp is fine.

thanks for the reply, you gave me the exact answer i was hoping for :D cause setting it up this way seems to be easier and less cluttered than
running more fans and more ducting.

the room the tent is in is cooled with an air conditioner so ambient temps should be/stay cool.

my 600W HPS made my grow room jump from 22C to 36C

after adding a 6 inch ventilation I could keep it down around 32C

running it at night made my temps 30C

once I added a cool hood I got them perfect 26-28C

with the LEDs I actually had to turn on the heat a bit in the early spring :D

my intake is the same, around 3x the size of the out take ventilation (6 inch`s)

I used a pice of left over ducting to make 3x about 1m long tubes, so I could light proof em with a few bends and so I could direct the fresh air where I want it

passive intake is in most cases enough (only if you need to pull in some fresh/cool air it might be a good idea with a small intake ventilation or if you run a hugh set up with multiple out take ventilations it might be necessary

here is a picture of how to set up a normal out take (with a cool tube/hood you would place it between filter and ventilation

as I said before 3x the size is normally enough most say 2-3x but most important is to keep a little bit of under/negative pressure in the tent/room, so you know all air going out is through the filter so no odor escape

i dont have a filter yet... the smell isnt a big deal at my house because my house has 13" thick brick walls and my grow room is upstairs (through two doors)

however i will be picking one up when i get the money just to make the setup more legit... although i did have 1 specific plant that did stink up 3 rooms no problem once lol
it smelled literally like a sewer... like a very musty sewer... but other than that one plant i havent had trouble with keeping the smell under control because the room my tent
is in also has an air cleaner in it (which helps a lot to contain the smell and keep it from getting to other rooms in the house)

yea, well my fist two plant`s made my apartment stink !! a mix of skunk and cat piss :D

filter did clear it in less then two hours, did`t think it would be that bad, and have cool neighbors, but damn I couldn't even sleep or stay in there :D

but sure if you have a house and don't mind some smell and have a air cleaner running (do it have carbon filter ?)

I dont run mine in Veg either, or fist week of flowering, when I begin to smell em (when I arrive home) I add it, no need to "burn" of the carbon unnecessary as filters last roughly a year depending on how much you run it and humidity (high RH is not good for the carbon)

yeah i live in the country around a mile or two from my closest neighbor so their not a problem... and i rarely let anyone know where i live (because i grow of course) so i usually dont get company at home.

figured with that being the case i could wait and get the carbon filter last since the smell is alright right now... as long as it stays contained until i get my paycheck next week its all good :D
