cookin oil with the frizzle gooch

Bout to cook some oil down with my buddy.. Picked up an oz earlier this month but it could easily be boiled into better medicine.

So i can't upload the pics for a couple more hours but here's the just of what we did.

Poured 5 grams into a glass ashtray . Then we boiled water beneath the ashtray and continued , stirring until we saw no bubbles left in the oil.

Poured more water to keep the ashtray bottom submerged. Dumb. The cold water change cracked the ashtray and let water in the oil slowly.

Took a pyrex coffee press cylinder, boiled again and ended up with much thicker oil, but a centimeter of water in the vial sitting underneath.

I boiled more down this morning and ended up with a quarter vial of nice oil At least i salvaged a bit...

Anyone care to share their methods? Mine took a long time and there was a big problem so it wasn't the best example.
