Continuing Adventures in Hempy

It's an odd thing. They have people convinced that growing is so hard, like we are pushing the boundaries of science. Making a batch of Aunt Jemima pancakes is about as hard as growing needs to be.

No doubt - I have a tendency to make things hard because I like to experiment, but when actually growing meds... well, an idiot can grow hempy... ;)

I'll always remember the twisted little stumps one guy grew with his "high pressure aero" system... you could not talk him out of it, even after it killed his seedlings one after the other when some part or switch would fail... or another guy who spent thousands on elaborate systems... and then would get stoned, leave a drain pump on and flood the apartment below him while killing all his plants with the rez empty... and I'm sure we don't even hear the most entertaining failures...

i use hempy buckets with great success . its simple , cost efective , and yields seem to be slightly larger per plant. ill have to agree that some people make it sound like going to the moon , but i say to each his own.heres a pic of mine at 28 days its a single whiteberry in a 10 gal hempy. nice looking grow.

Yup, keeping things KISS with the style and the the food you feed them has never failed anybody. I read a thread the other day and they guy was like, I feed my plants this and this and this and this and this and everything was cool till I added this. What should I do? Reminded me of that joke where the guy tells his doctor that his arm hurts when he does this.

lol, everybody who sees the screen thinks I'm a scrogger. That's actually just to support the plants since the perlite gives them very little. I just lollitop for the most part and let them go. If I learned to do shit like scrog and fim or actual training I'm sure I could yield a bit more, but I'm the laziest grower you'll ever meet. But who knows, maybe 2011 is the year I'm going to get off my ass.

Those are monkey's but just about everybody who grows in hempy has pics of nice buds. As long as you got good water you can't fudge the pootch.

Happy New Years all.

It's 12:00 here in Japan and it's the year of the rabbit. Which I think means lot of fucking this year.

Day 1 veg 400 watts 6 Chronics

I cut this garden on day 61 the other day. Pretty happy with the quality and amount of bud that I got considering how overcrowded I made it. 10 plants is really too much but in the end it all works out. This round I'm going to keep it simple though and after recycling the medium I've filled with with 6 clones of my old chronic that I had to get back from a friend after the new ones didn't turn out good. First day after transplant I like to keep my light a little higher and lower it over the next day or so a little at a time.

Day 14? flower 250 watts 2 killer Queens

I actually have no idea when I started flowering this closet, I'm guessing about 2 weeks? These bad boy time outs really fuck me up. I've disowned this closet more or less
I had cloned plants to replace the closet and started seeds as a back up but after half of the plants recovered I figured it was better just to flower them and see what happens, to put my trust in the plants to use the light.

So I can report that I got a 280 gram yield on the last round with the 400 or a simplified 0.7 gpw, about where I want to be. The quality is very good so I'm happy. The next closet is going to be cut in a few days so it's going to be a very good month here. Blunts and lots of them.

You guys might remember this photo of the grass a friend gave me a while back. I also got some cuts from him and I don't know if it's really NL#5 or not. Anyway they are an easy plant to grow. They actually yielded better than anything else in the closet but they should go longer. What ever it is there is something about the smell that is nostalgic, not sure if that's good or not but it has a smell that says weed. I have a mother so I'm going to keep it for a while and do a closet of it and treat them a little nicer.

Northern Lights #5 (from semi trusted source)
This is what all of mine turned out looking like. Smoke is smooth, doesn't hurt my sensitive throat at all and there is a creeping high that I'm digging.

The Killer Queen is nice as well but didn't get much off of that one.

Day 48 flower/harvest day 250 watts Ghaze x BubbaKush

I cut down one of the 250's today. It turned out a little better than I thought it would. This strain is a low yielder so for the 250 watts I'll be happy with 125 dried grams. If I get that it will put me just over 400 grams for the month.
More than enough weed for me and my friends.

Now I got to remove the roots from the perlite by running it through the hopper and heating it to kill any germs. Normally I would do this on another day because I'm lazy but I got seedlings ready and want to transplant them.

Day 1 veg 250 watts 6 Chronic seedlings

So I processed all the medium and plugged in the clones, always happy when I can turn a garden over quickly.

These seeds are just some chronic seeds that I made. Hopefully I'll find a keeper. They were in their little dixie cups longer than I would have liked but apartment growing is what it is.

Now I have to clean up the perlite and make sure there isn't one piece anywhere before the wife comes home. There is nobody who hates perlite more than her. She sees it and turns into sexier version of Gogo Yubari.
