Connect Phresh filter to Hurricane fan

My hurricane fan and phresh filter dont fit together. I watched a video and the guy is using a white connector to connect the two. It even has hooks... I can use a small piece of 4" ducting to connect them, but this would be much sturdier for me.

Any thoughts on where to get this or what it's called?

Mount the fan and then work on the fit of the filter. Duct tape and spray foam may help the situation. Or snap on carpentry.

ughh. darn. i bought the clamp, but due to the design of the fan and filter it didn't work. The fan is slightly smaller than the lip to the filter so no matter how I tried I couldn't get ti to grip right. Nice clamp to have around though.. I got it for only $5 at the hydro store. First time anything was cheaper there than online :)

Ended up using the metalic silver vent tape. I still have to find a way to secure the filter to the tent as a backup in case it falls off at some point I don't want it to crush the girls.. Oohh, just had a good idea.. I'll use a regular vent clamp to clamp the tape,.

Usually, the fan flange will slip inside the filter flange. I secure the fan to the filter with 3/4" self tapping/drilling panhead screws. Be careful, some of the newer fans, it is easy to penetrate into the fan, and the screw can possibly touch fan blade. Just pay attention where you're screwing. I hold the filter up about 1/2"(kind of tricky this part) leaving a gap, so I can foil tape it. I sure wish they would make the inlet flange of fans longer!
IF, both flanges are exactly the same diameter, that clamp you bought would work. I usually use some metal strapping though, in that case(very rare)

wrap the smaller lip of the fan with quality gorilla glue duct tape (only put 1 layer on at a time as 2 or more may be too much). this can fill the void a bit, then mount your duct work or scrubber with clamps or that neoprene collar you got (btw, is pretty sweet). I do this on all my fans to a really good air tight fit. sometimes a small rubber mallet is needed to get things to fit better.

Yea, my foil tape lasted all of 45 minutes:) I was in bed and I heard a thump. I didn't have to guess what it was :)

Thanks for the Awesome ideas.. Yea, who is the idiot that is designing fan and filter combos???? They should just lock together somehow... I even emailed hurricane fans and Phresh filters and neither has responded over two days.. Hey HURRICANE and PHRESH... FU!:)

SO I have a few options..
1) Drill holes and screw it on then wrap with tape to create the seal.
2) Wrap the miniscule lip of fan so it becomes the same diameter as filter then atach the two together with the clamp
3) Connect the two with a short piece of 4" ducting and attach with the ring clamps then tape to make sure it doesn't come loose.

There are some rivets on the inside of the lip of the filter. I have always wondered if those are there to stop the fan lip from entering the filter too far or if your supposed to hammer the fan onto the filter.

just a heads up, most duct tapes are garbage when subjected to heat. they delaminate. even the very expensive gorilla glue tape brand will delaminate.

yea, I always use the foil tape.. supposedly it holds up against the heat.. thx for the heads up.
