Confused about Lucas formula & GHE Flora series

Forgetting about the specifics of the Lucas formula I bought some GHE Floraveg and GHE Floramicro thinking I could use the Floraveg in veg and Florabloom in bloom which I would buy at a later date. In actual fact I'd need just the GHE Floramicro and Floramicro for the Lucas formula meaning the Floraveg would be redundant. So, I was wondering, should I buy the Florabloom and use the Lucas formula or should I buy the Florabloom and do what I orginally intended to do? Are both techniques just as effective as each other or is the Lucas formula actually superior to the other method? Or is the Lucas formula just simpler/cheaper?

the lucas formula calls for 0-8-16 ml/gal (grow-micro-bloom), But Lucas stated in the "ask lucas" thread, that its good to add grow instead of bloom initially to fill the res at the beginning of the crop and use bloom rather than grow for all add-back into the res. All with a target TDS of 1350 ppm @ .7 conversion. This works well to supply the plant with a little more nitrogen during the stretching period of flowering (about first 2 weeks). He also stated to not bother changing out yoiur res for the entire crop. However if I was vegging for long periods of time (over 3 weeks) i would consider adding back to the res with grow until probably the last 2 weeks of vegging give or take a few days depending on your lighting (hrs per day and strength).

Also Lucas uses the flora nova series which makes it much easier because there is only a grow and a bloom bottle. Lucas formula for the nova series is 8 ml or whatever gets you to 1350 ppm @ .7 (flora nova is thick and hard to stir up, so 8 ml doesn't always give you 1350, sometimes 6 ml can)

Sorry I don't quite understand. What do you mean by 'adding back to the res'?

Im thinking he meens as the plants drink in the ppm will drop. The add back is what is needed to bring it back to said tds.

Actually the floramicro(5-0-1) has more nitrogen than floragrow(2-1-6). And there are a few formulas for a few different kinds of nutes.... here

Huh, this is an interesting thread to follow.

Don't have a lot of experience with the Lucas formula or these nutes. Always good to learn more about different things you can do.

I'm using the lucas formula currently, and only have somewhat of an idea of what I'm doing.
Typically the lucas formula is meant for RO water from what I hear.

But what I've done is use the flora micro and flora bloom with filtered water that has a ppm of 220.(its filtered tap water.) From here on I add the flora micro(5-0-1) first at the said measurements of 1 teaspoon per gallon for general use. Then I add teaspoon of flora bloom(0-5-4) into it which added together makes for a (5-5-5) on the N-P-K. I then take a quick ph reading and then ph the entire mix to 6.0 and then check my ppm's which have been starting at 600 and decreasing by 40 a day. I was told I may have to use calmag at some point when using this method but I'll do that when it happens.
This is only my first week of growing in dwc, but so far my plant has grown 1.3 inches in the past 2 days so I think I'm getting the hang of it.
Heres a link for you on the lucas method.
