COMPLETE Grow Room Checklist!

Hey everyone!

TLDR; I'm going to try to make a checklist with thorough information on multiple items for each section of grow equipment. IF YOU ARE LOOKING HERE FOR A LARGE GROW ENVIRONMENT PLEASE IGNORE THIS THREAD AS IT WILL LIKELY BE OF NO USE TO YOU! If your just a fan of good information please feel free to follow along!

I'm currently in the process of preparing for my first grow! (I was raised a 2nd generation outdoor grower but this is my first time solo and indoor). I'm more excited about this than a little kid counting down the days until Christmas! Thus far I have received my seeds from Herbies (They did a great job I might add) and I'm waiting to move to a more suitable environment to begin. As such in order to feed my interest in this subject I'm going to start compiling a list of NEEDED and WANTED items. I feel that this will be a good reference to Newbies and it will help me narrow down my equipment selection as well. After I have found my new place with the space I require I plan to link this to a grow journal as well. If all goes well hopefully I will be able to turn this into a complete guide to replicate large yields in small environments.

******NEEDED ITEMS******

-Grow Tent!

For my environment I'm going to have to have a tent otherwise my wife would shoot me in the kneecaps because of the smell. As I like my kneecaps and walking I have purchased a tent! I managed to acquire a cheap 2'x4' that will suffice for my needs from my local hydroponics store for a grand total of $40! Just goes to show that if you shop around and find quality used equipment you can get it for quarters on the dollar! See below for product information:

-Lighting!

---Ballast!

I'm going to be using 600W HPS for this grow and I have yet to acquire one. I chose a 600w HPS because I plan on using fans for cooling and it is just enough without being too much for my space. (More on cooling selections later.) I will be listing dimmable ballasts as I plan on expanding later (Why not? / Who wouldn't with a 2'x4' really?) I will also be listing Digital Ballasts as they are more power efficient in the long term and who needs that big ass electricity bill??? Not me!

Sorry, I have ran out of time for the next little bit or so and this is a work in progress! Feel free to post and contribute! (We are looking more along the lines of closet grows currently.) I plan on being able to create another thread at a later time for large scales. I am into electrical engineering and building out facility infrastructure so this should prove to be a fun project! Just give me time. :hump:

Cheers! bongsmilie
****THIS POST WILL BE EDITED AS MORE INFORMATION IS ACQUIRED*******

I run a 600w Apollo ballast. While I am changing ballasts and moving it to a backup. It worked well. I would suggest upgrading the bulb as its not of the best quality. But for 160 shipped for the ballast, cooltube, HPS bulb and MH bulb, you can't beat it.
