I gotta say it again.... September 7th for those of you that have been under a rock. Noon at the front steps of the Capitol Building. It is time for us ALL to stand together. Put aside all our bickering, fighting, disagreements and what have you to show this state that WE are here and we DO MATTER. I hope to see all you great people there.

Tied dyed shirts and dashikis optional.. but recommended.

It's defintily picking up... Tons of people with signs but we still have a while till we fill up the place. Trying to figure out how I can get pics up I attemtped once but I think the picture was to big....

The walkway to the front doors of our legislature is getting filled and the grass is rapidly getting more crowded.

High times showed up and is speaking not exactly sure almost sounds like the announcer guy.

Wish I could be there. Represent us right.

I heard that they bussed in a bunch of staties in full riot gear for a camio on the local news. Unbelieveable. And they had them in the back of the capital building so it made it look like no one showed up. Any info on this?

5 pm just got home. The crowd was bigger than I thought it would be. My husband and I wandered over to the Farnum Bldg (kittykorner from the demo) to speak with our representative Marleau. The office was closed. But, we left a message and got a return call. I explained that we were there to let him know our stance on the issue. Then they offered for us to have a one on one meeting with him late next week. I accepted the offer. I think since we aren't spring chickens helped immensely in getting an appointment. I will represent us with much decorum and respect.

If you have any data that we can use when we meet with him please pm it to me. So now, I'm going to write a follow-up letter to his office in Lansing and make sure he knows (again) how we feel.

Was an awesome turnout! I think we sent a good clear message that was heard. Stupid Detroit news said "nearly 1000 people", I'm not sure what protest they were at.

I was surprised to see the plane refuled and came back with a new sign, that was awesome!

The afterparty at the loft was cool, although a jack on the rocks was $8.50...

Whoever made the sugar cookies with the little pot-leafs on them, they were good tasting.

Got to sample some good stuff in the green bracelet room

Nope. I am smarter then to think a protest by 90% of people breaking the law will accomplish anything. Sorry to disappoint you sir drug dealer, and besides I am pro MMJ as well I just see the big picture and what the current patients are doing on a daily basis to make you take five steps backward to every one step you take.
