what do you hate the most about california? their prosperity, or their budget surpluses?
I hate how they have cleaned up the air in LA. I hate how they have the highest standards for vehicle emissions and have become the main driver for reducing car emissions in this country.

In the world really. The manufacturers have only to strive to meet CA standards because Asian made cars enter the US through San Fransisco or Long Beach and European cars are sold more in CA than other states. US made trucks are mainly sold in red state shit holes to rednecks who think global warming is a Chinese hoax, so they don't have to do much to cut emissions. If it weren't for CA, the Northern Passage would have been open (year round) sooner.

Actually most Asian company cars in America are built here by Americans. And the companies foreign and domestic put extra emissions parts on cars to be sold in Cali. It lowers their performance for a barely noticeable reduction in emissions. And of course raises the price.

And the same standards are met for light duty trucks up to 1 ton chassis.

ruining the environment to own the libs

How can we compete with California since we suck? I know, lets come up with ways to cheat the standards and convince idiots that science isn't real. Then we can have nonunion factory workers in red states slaving away. Everyone benefits if there's no upward mobility, right? As long as our piece of shit cars are cheaper, who cares if they ruin the environment and break down sooner!

I lived in Glendale in the 80s when I was training in Venice but didn't really care for it even back then, same for San Francisco (with the exception of the North Beach area). Santa Barbara area is much nicer, one of the most beautiful places I've ever been.
