Los Angeles is a prime example of uniquely American wildly extreme income and wealth inequality, a leading center of propaganda of illusions of prosperity and opportunity most never get the chance to chase, a terribly polluted and paved environmental disaster zone that the rest of our country is nevertheless racing to emulate in every way they can.

But they reliably elect Democrats so of course that makes it all okay!

seeing as how LA county is the most wealthy, productive, and prosperous county in the nation, i sure do hope we can be more like them.

i'd love to welcome those unfortunate migrants too. they will no doubt add to the rich american tapestry and be way more productive than russian bots or brokedick republican racists.

Spoken like a true corporate apologist.

I admire your honesty on this point.

Wage Justice, environmental degradation and quality of life are all fair game to be sacrificed on the altar of capitalist greed, eh?

Right. As a tourist I'm sure you visited Man's Chinese theater, cruised Rodeo Blvd and took in Hollywood.

Did you perchance swing by East LA? Long Beach? Check rent prices in places not consumed by gang violence and drugs?

Most people don't, at least not if they can help it.

I'm not bashing on your point of view, I'm just suggesting that perhaps you didn't get the whole story when you visited.

That's the problem with folks deciding to pick a side in politics, everything is fine long as the team they are supporting is in charge/doing the harm.

In America, politics has become just that; a team sport, where whatever 'we' do is okay and whatever 'they' do isn't, no matter how awful those deeds actually are.

It's why I'm not optimistic about the American experiment anymore. Too much 'exceptionalism'.

one of my best memories was driving through the san joaquin valley (an awesome drive if you love looking at the best farmland in the world) and getting to grapevine just after it had rained. ascending up the hill into the mountains north of LA and the earth just smelled like fresh rain.

i hope everyone in the world gets to experience that some time, especially those fleeing refugee migrants who OP is scared of because he's a bigoted white pussy from russia

That's the only time it smells like rain.

As a propagandist, you really suck.

What does a picture of a single tourist attraction have to do with anything?
Thats the thing thats not a tourist attraction. You don't know where it is, and you have already generalized about me and people living and visiting LA and you are mentally segregating upon others due to wealth. Its disgusting quite frankly. You may need synagogue my man. They teach the homeless and the poor being the #1 on the respect list.

First, I noticed that you have yet to name the building pictured or what it stands for.

The wealthy most certainly segregate themselves.

Your willful misrepresentation of my points is frankly disgusting.

Telling me that I need your religion to see things 'correctly' is even more self serving.

I'm glad they care for the poor and homeless, that's honorable. I wish it weren't used as an excuse by those in power to about their responsibilities to do the same for all poor and homeless.

California is where most of the innovation in the US occurs. No wonder regressive shitstains hate it. California's GDP is #8 in the world. Without California, US would fall below China and no longer be the world's biggest economy. California achieves this despite having the most stringent environmental protections and the least cooperation with the current federal gestapo. California is America's most redeeming quality.
