im gonna set up a veggie grow space for the winter. i was thinking about putting about 6 small veggie plants unter a t5 floro and some new ones growing under a few CFLs. same concept as growing weed, just legal. i cant wait to move to calli so i can grow plants again. some times i feel like every year i spend not growing marijuana is another wasted year

^^I know how you feel. I did a grow and stopped and the entire time I wished I had a pretty green garden.

Now I wanna do some peppers and fruiting trees.

To OP:If they are kept in their own containers why not?

I grew a bagseed next to a basil plant, when I took the bagseed out the basil started not doing as well. Now I have two types of basil growing next to each other, both happy.

I think it will work as long as light hours and temps are ok.

I've heard peppers grown too close to other veggies makes the other veggies taste spicy.
i wonder if grown close to marijuana will it taste spicy?

Growing really spicy peppers could i guess to some degree do this, like when a cannabis plant is really smelly at certain times of the day, likewise the pepper plant could impart something.

I had a friend tell that his grandma planted the hottest pepper plant she could find, because they drive away lots of pests.

i grow outdoors, and having marigolds and chrysanthemums growing next to my weed keeps the bugs away... also, when the plants start putting out heavy trichomes, the trichomes tend to drive off teh grasshoppers.. at least for me it does

MYTH. my tomatoes are grown right next to some fiery hot peppers and taste like........tomatoes.

why wouldnt it be safe to grow veggies next to MJ?

you may find that your veggies start to take over your illicit plants space and begin to lose thier appeal, in my experience.

tomato plants do tend to make good camoflage for pot plants. i can grow about 3 pot plants and surround them with tomatoes in those wire cages. I had people look at the tomatoes and not realize that they are hiding weed plants. sometimes you just have to guerilla garden LOL

what happens when your tomatoes die off a month before your pot is done? my 'maters are all winding down and im pretty sure most outdoor isnt even close to done yet.

i have a continuous herb garden planted in a 4"x18" windowsill type box in my VEG room at 18/6. it stays just as lush as the canniplants that pass by it every few weeks. i always have a steady supply of basil, rosemary, thyme, and cumin. since these are all herbs, and you dont want them to flower, your veg room works great.... however i do tend to have ALOT of basil go to waste. more than i can give away, yet it has to be disposed of in order to keep it from taking over. also i have had GREAT success with SMALL indoor peppers, ie:Hot Ones... though never in the same cab with my smokables. a little bit of ZANG with your bong rip might actually be nice! LOL!

You burned him slick. LOL
wasnt my intent. just curious as to what he does when his camoflauge dies off. its actually a commor problem with outdoor from what i hear. what looks to be concealed in the spring and summer could be dead exposed in mid october.

I asked a similar question and was wondering as I have a 5 gallon DIY bubbler DWC with 3 3 inch netpots in the lid, I have 2 tomatoe clones in rockwool that I am trying to get going and was wondering what would happen if I used the 3rd netpot for a seeding of MJ, I am going to be trying it soon to see what happens.

the only problems i foresee with this is that your tomato plants will be done and dying well before your MJ is done and you will have tangled roots in you rez and the tomatoes will veg way faster than the MJ and might overtake your growing space.

if you built a cloche, or a green house to put around your tomatoes they wouldnt be winding down hell throw a little space heater and you can have tomatoes year round. In usda zones 9-10 you can get a year round tomato crop by themselves. Some pvc and 3-10 mil plastic and anybody can have a year round crop.
