Colorado medical marijuana dead?

Seems like every week another medical dispensary is re-opening as purely recreational, "screwing" their members. I see the reviews they leave complaining about selling out. I understand, but I think that ship has sailed now. Even medical dispensaries don't see the point anymore.

I walked out of a recreational store in Boulder yesterday after having paid around $25 for one 1/8th, and around $35 for another of good quality bud. Prices keep going down and quality up. So what's the point of medical now? Having to go through hoops and pay a fee to get a card that gets you the same quality weed at roughly the same prices as Joe Schmoe walking into a rec store? That's dumb.

They're even thinking about lowering the taxes on rec. If not, prices are going below medical anyway. We've already seen dispensaries raid their good stash to supply their rec stores.

That's OK. Medical was only a stepping stone on the path for full legalization, it was never meant to be more than that. It was never supposed to be for anything other than opening minds and relaxing laws for eventual recreational laws. It worked. We did it.

Medical is dead. We don't need it anymore. It is at odds with the reality that people should be able to use it for pure recreation. Does it help with legitimate medical needs, definitely, but nobody should be required to come up with a bullshit medical need just to use it for fun. Any more than people are required to prove a medical need for beer. Prohibition is over, and the medical charade should be too. It was an abused system, pot docs got rich, that's about it. It was too bad we had to go through it, but it helped get us here, and now it should just be done.

Ehh Idk man, I rarely shop in Denver now due to the whole rec. side.. I just stick with the Springs where I can get product cheaper than Denver with much better customer service in general. I am sure it depends on where you go, but the few places i've went that were medical & recreational where just chaotic, high priced, & bad customer service. I got mistaken for a Recreational user at medicine man and the guy was a complete dick and treated me like shit. Once he realized I was a medical patient his whole perspective/attitude changed completely.. Just not right. I don't know, I think that one day yes medical will be obsolete, but from what i've seen I don't think that time has come just yet.. Also it seems as if high CBD items are more widely available in the medical market which I, as well as a lot of other people actually utilize and need. I don't know though, I very rarely shop in Denver/places with recreational so my experiences are limited.. Should be an interesting thread anyways, I look forward to reading others comments!

To get an idea of where this thread will most likely go, read through this thread: https://www.rollitup.org/t/getting-tired-of-recreational-ruining-it-for-medical-my-bitch-thread.809769/
Lol, I was about to say, I started bitching about rec a while back.

I'd be happy to see the prices and taxes fall for rec. However, medical is taking "the next steps" with treatment regimes for serious conditions of which traditional medicine or falls short. And currently it is so incredibly difficult for research to be done at a real medical industry level so we need the "guerrilla" mmj industry still. Much of which yea is all about the money, but some still remain loyal to the medicine and patients.

Also, for many sick people that benefit from these regimens, it is impossible to produce the concentrates or even the capsules themselves, let alone the cannabis quantity and quality required.

PS> I haven't seen rec or even medi prices like that in Denver, but maybe we have different standards, the dispensary stuff that I like is usually close to 300/oz "best shelf" medical.

I let my red card expire because I thought at the beginning of the year I wouldn't need it anymore except to save a few bucks. I had no idea my fav dispensary was planning on staying as med only.

Your still a renewal if you go to the Dr. Doesn't matter your expired, you're still in the MED database.

I don't smoke that much to make it worth my while to renew. Honestly, the only thing I miss is going to Kind Love in Denver. They have beautiful buds and really nice clones. Green Grass (rec) is right up the road from me in Black Hawk and while they aren't as good as Kind Love, they are good enough for me to get the odds and ends I need when I need them.
