BTW, no one would know which dispensories pay the best for good meds, would you?
I check with 5 of them up here and they are RIP-OFFS. They charge people 18 up to 25/gram, But they only pay growers 8 to 9/gram. I heard Steamboat pays $4300/lb.
Hey I checked my paper work and the Doc did not write down the amount I can grow. I told him I want to ingest it. How do you find out how much he want me to have?

Screw that, if they want my stuff they're gonna pay at least half of retail ($60 a qtr, approx $4k a lb) or they can just sell mexican schwag for all I care.

What is Steamboat, a dispensory?

You would need to call that Dr back and ask him to specify. I'm not sure if the card specifies or not. If you can't get him to go over 6, then scroll back a bit. I posted a like to a place where you can get it increased for a little over $100.

You know Steamboat Colorado. I was talking with a guy that did a job up there and he said the dispensory was needing some and that they would pay top dollar up to $5000/lb. I am like you I wont sell to the bastards that are out there to make the money and leave and not help the people out. We sell ours $60 per 1/4. I know one guy that pays $90 per 1/4. He is not legal so he gets reamed.

Hello fellow CO growers. Mile high baby. I'm in the FortCollins/Loveland. Currently growing Durban, Euphoria U, Elephant, WhiteBerry and SuperGirl. Hydro right now but have done soil and coco multiple times in the past as well.

Couple of things to point out about what i've read so far.

The 6 plant limit if naming caregiver - Once you name someone your caregiver they have the right to grow your allotted 6 plants for you. The state only wants 6 plants per patient. That does not mean that you cannot grow your own as long as at no time do you and your caregiver get simultaneously raided and plants counted, you are good.

Paulino Gardens is a great place to go for soil and amendments and such. Been around a long time.

I know a local grower/patient that has an unlimited # license. The signed DR rec simply states "will need more plants".

The doctors that are getting all the attention are the ones that are paid by the dispensaries. Them and the few who were actually not allowed to write scripts but were legally allowed to recommend MMJ. The CannaMed Dr i saw has a full license in good standing.

What i want to see most of all in the new legislation is some respect for the small personal grower or small co-ops. Put common-sense restrictions on dispensaries and leave us patients smart enough to realize the marijuana does not take a wizard to grow alone to do our thing with our meds. :weed:

Nice frosty looking buds. Great tricombe production, do you use any special techniques or just good genetics?
Genetics for sure, this plant has become REALLY popular with patients around here. I just grow them in coco-coir and flush for a week with plain water.

Hi every1. Nice thread. But the whole part about colorado getting out of hand cause robberies is kinda scary.

I have been dreaming of moving to Colorado for quit some time now.

I am 26 years old and i live in Tx. Weed is my passion and my medicine. I had surgery on my back a few years ago, and it is truely the best medication for me.

What i would like to kno is, if i were to move up there with my fiance, is it really hard to obtain a card or permit or w/e its called?

Also, this is kinda off the subject, but is it foolish of me to want to move to Colorado and start my own growing business/weed store? I have been searching for my "passion" my whole life, and i just cant find anything other than weed. I am currently in school taking a bunch of random classes, hoping i would find something i like or am interested in..... but i cant!!! I have also had many random jobs, none of which i like. If i open any book from school, i will read for about 10 minutes and then ill be ready to sleep. But if it has anything to do with weed, i can read about it all day.

Is there ANY advice you guys from colorado can give me?
What can i expect if i do move up there, and is my whole idea about opening my own store foolish?

Not foolish at all they are calling it the "Green Rush" for a reason. I think eventually they profiteers will be forced out by more patient care oriented dispensaries and care-givers. The retail pot-shop is lame IMHO, the shops should be less about profit and more about patients.
To answer your question though, finding a caregiver and getting a doctor's recommendation is not hard at all in CO as long as you meet one of the qualifying conditions. It sounds like your medical history fits the bill.

Cool, sorry I didn't know Steamboat. I just got here 6 months ago. Is Steamboat far from Denver? Because transporting might be a problem. My plant limit is 20 but my "weight on me" limit is still 2 oz. lol

In regular retail, retailers don't make more than 100% profit. Sometimes less especially on stuff that sells good like tickle me elmo or that retarted robotic hampster that was dooing soo good for soo long. That's just the rules of retail.

I wouldn't sell to anyone who isn't legal, that's just silly in a state where it's legal. The extra $30 just isn't worth the risk of a fed pen. Tell him to go get his license, it's not that hard.

If I find dispensories local that pay a decent price I'll let everyone know.

Which strain?
Killawatt (100% Hindu-Kush), I got the seeds from Seedism. This was the best pheno out of five seeds though all were pretty damn uniform. They are one of the few breeders that I will buy feminized seed from. All their genetics are just re-named old-school genetics. They have been breeding most of their stuff for close to 20yrs.

We also have some Violator Kush which is Hindu-Kush X Manala, grows like the Killawatt but even better, lots of buds bud NO leaf and huge colas.:weed:

The dispensories that hire armed guards don't have the problem. The ones with2 employees located in an out of the way place are the ones that are targets for the most part. Besides, if you were opening a gas station would you shy away from it because of all the robberies or just put in some bullet proof glass? Any cash business is a potential target, but taking precautions makes you less of a target.

I don't think the dispensories are supposed to grow though, and all of them have lawyers on retainers just in case. Not the kind of business I'd want to get into. But to each their own.

I'm just planning on growing and getting a Desert Eagle 5.0 as soon as I can. Most theives will soil themselves with one of them pointed at them. And the real crazy ones will take off after hearing one shot from that cannon. lol

After having back surgery, you should have no problem getting your license.

Cool, but doesn't Kush have longer flowering periods? (don't want to mess up my 2 month rotation).

I wonder what the trics would look like if you used a technique like UVB or something. It looks like you used it already, those tricombes would be nuts if you used it on top of the genetics. Yummy. lol

Thanks, I'll have to keep my eye out as I get bigger and start growing more.

Stay Away from Mile High Dispensary on south broadway. He got all his patients (well over 100)by telling them he was going to give them 2 free ounces every 3 months. Anything on the shelf he says. When the day came to pick up the free meds there was 2 choices, something that looked and smelled like schwag, and some other stuff FULL of seeds.

That has been my experience so far the meds I've gotten from disp has been crap, looks good, smells good, taste good but does not have that high that makes you say "now thats my meds" why I decided to get back into growing again

It seems a lot of the disp owners are newbee growers cause they seem to be chopping early, in it for the money not the quality

I know there must be a few that know what they are doing, (shrubs mentioned one) but overall it seems to be a big green rush farce

:weed::weed::weed:i gotta say, im a younger med patient. i suffer from sever anxiety and lots of joint pains and other issues. i medicate because it really does ease my anxiety and pain. im 22 years old. i know what you guys are saying about the 18 year olds getting licensed and hooking it up for their non licensed friends waiting outside.
it is stupid. i agree. it could be the downfall of medical marijuana at some point. they dont care to even think of that cause they are liers and not real patients. they just wanna resell it or party. (not too late, they might have school the next day!) the only thing we can do really is talk about it. maby one of them will read and stop ruining this for everyone. your meds are your meds. your giving away prescriptions when your letting people smoke YOUR MEDS! stop. :spew:

I take this strain to about 9 weeks to make it extra frosty, you could probably harvest @ 8weeks if you really wanted though. I call Killawatt a "next month" strain because I know if I put one in flower the first of the month that by then end of the next month it will be ready.
