According to the label.
Active Ingredient:
Silver at 30 ppm in a base of deionized water and citric acid.

They have this product at my local GNC, it's $26.99 + tax for 8 oz, will this suffice to spray on a plant to create seeds?

I have a female auto plant (almost starting to flower) in the group I'd like to dedicate to seed creation and am looking to buy soon.

The shop is close by and I'd rather get it locally, anyone ever use this product or something similar for seed creation?

If the ppm is not high enough they also have this with 50 ppm but it has zinc and other ingredients.

The target plant doesn't need to be harvested for bud so I'm not concerned about how nasty it gets as long as it survives to drop seeds.

Thanks

I've been reading a lot on the subject and many people have reported problems with homemade CS. For example, in this thread https://www.rollitup.org/auto-flowering-strains/672261-afghan-kush-ryder-wtf-lets-9.html#post9640972

Probably due to ppm values but I've read a lot where in some cases homemade did nothing, to homemade was just killing foliage. I might look into making it in the future but not for my first go. If things go wrong or it doesn't work then I have to add that extra variable that my CS is bunk. For my first run I don't want that.

I have been interested in making feminized seed for some time now and am going to try the home made version, can't help myself :) . I found what I believe to be a pretty good tutorial to follow and there are several good videos on YouTube as well. http://keelynet.com/biology/colloid.htm

It will be a couple of weeks before I am ready but I will post the process/progress. Please do the same as I am curious about this process. Thanks, Larry

kind of ironic since from my point of view, i wouldnt trust the purity of store bought cs compared to what i see go into what i make. heres how i made it and i got over a 100 seeds.

use distilled water

connect each 1 gram piece of silver to aN alligator clip which connects to a +/- terminal on the battery.

wait until the solution says 30ppm with your ppm meter

spray your plant once everyday covering it thoroughly all over. a week before you start 12-12 and a week into 12-12.

use pollen from your newly created male and apply it to the plants you want to breed with.

it is literally as easy as that. please dont go spending a horrendous amount on CS when you can make it yourself.

Indeed nice beans!!

Personally, when I make seeds (never made fem seeds) If I created 20+ seeds, I always start 5-10 right away and get 50% germination rate when THEY WERE DARK AND READY when I harvested them.

To get nice looking seeds like Alex, you simply have to let them mature on the plant long enough.

Thanks Alex for the Tutorial, I might hit you up when I actually get to make my own fem seeds. I have a few strains that are great 12/12 from seed strains (or were great 12/12 from seed and now clone only) and fem seeds would make my whole grow much more efficient.

I am still a believer in making reg seeds helping with the gene pool but for small home operations, fem seeds can become quite handy!!

amen to that!! reg seeds are definitely the way to go when it comes to real seed making, my actual future plans are to use these fem seeds i made to make some badass crosses down the road. i knew i had to use CS on this particular la confidential clone because to this date, it is the best thing i have ever smoked and i was dead terrified of losing the original mother.

Absolutely it works my buddy. I was skeptical myself but it does work. I bought that exact stuff and after day 30 it's apparent it took. I would recommend slightly higher ppms but mine worked even starting a week later than planned
