~Cold Curing!!?Miracle Break Through To Achive The Most Colorful Buds U Ever Seen!!!

I know that some growers lower temps during some parts of flowering,or through the entire flowering phase to bring out bluish or purple hues in the buds...and I know curing the buds will make the colors more pronounced. Also,I know that this has mostly to do with genetics,so lets assume I have a Blueberry plant...but Im barely managing keeping the temps stable, let alone lower them even more.

So,what happens if I dry the buds as normal, but cure them in the freezer,or fridge. What I mean is to put the buds in airtight mason jars to cure, and place the jars somewhere cold and dark...will this bring out the colors?:weed:
Has anyone ever tried this?It should work, considering the fact that the easiest way to bring ut colors is by lowering temps, will CURING them in very cold temps achieve this...possible better than just lowering temps during flowering??:leaf::leaf::?:

probably not. I would think that it would encourage mold growth if anything. The lower temps i don't think would do any good as for curing because the jars are closed there is no air flow. Overall i just think it is much to cold for a plant in it's drying/curing stage. I would focus on growing temps instead. Just my opinion though.

My theory on non-genetic purple traits among plants is that diffent temperatures affect the pH of a medium. A drop in temp will result in a drop in pH. Now this drop in pH blocks out certain nutrients being available to a plant, example phosphorus. A sign of a phos def is purple. So in essence, a drop in temp is a drop in pH, a drop in pH is a drop in nutrient availability, and a drop in nutrient availability is responsible for the purple in plants. So I don't think cold curing would work, since the nutrients are already uptaked within the stems and calyxs. You would have to somehow extract all the phosphorus within its viable time frame after harvest.

You don't want to put buds in the freezer. It will damage the trichomes.
only if you leave too much moisture in the buds will the tri's explode.

I vacuum pack and freeze the majority of my buds and only keep a half dozen oz in mason jars in the dark cool cupboard.

after 12 months in the freezer it is quite fresh and tasty and i get just as baked as if it was harvested a month ago..:-)

I was wondering about the coloring myself, I have a couple purple power plants that are sooo close to harvest but only have one or two buds that are purple, a cold front is supposed to be moving in so I will see if that changes things more.

I new product by humbolt county called purple max is what you might want to try. It causes an extreme nutrient uptake and it is recommended that you cut your fertilizer down by 1/3 because of it. You can use it right up to the end and in it's beta testers 1/3 -1/4 of them turned purple. Because of this the product formally known as Stacker soon became Purple Max. Check it out yourself. I just started using it and i think it is working wonders! No color change but i don't think i have purple strains to begin with.
