Cola Not Ready Yet

I usually chop the entire plant when i'm ready for harvest. This grow I have a few plants with huge colas that aren't mature yet but the rest of the buds look ready and the trichomes are turning cloudy and amber. Would it be OK to cut every thing off except the main stalk and the cola? Would the plant remain healthy enough to let the cola mature for a week maybe two?

yes, that should be fine. lots of people stagger the harvest to let the rest of the plant finish. it is a bit unusual for the lower growth to mature faster than the colas, though. but as long as there's leaves still on the plant you can let the rest finish if you need to. no need to smoke premature bud if you don't have to.
