Cobs?! DECENT

Sup all.. first post here after doing a lot of creeping for years. I went ahead and built a cob set up for a grow I'll be doing in the near future.

I used 6 Vero 29's 3500K 80cri D bin with a Meanwell HLG 320 1400, so I'll be getting ~50w per light. I'll most likely run 3 (autos) under it at a time.
I'm pumped to see the effiency and results from this, as they are the future:mrgreen:

And damn are these things bright!! I'll get some pics up here soon enough.

Happy rollin :bigjoint:

I'm running near the same set up. You'll be smiling a LOT bigger soon. Run what ya brung and enjoy the hell out of 'em!

I've made ^^ that ^^ face a few times upon opening the door to my girls. Good thing I have high ceilings. lol

most of the newer autos are not that bad, for people with certain conditions.

with the newer feminized seeds, being good too.

I can see in the future were REG seeds are more expensive, just to keep your genetics more like an IP.

I did my first auto grow with some blueberry under CFL's, I was pretty impressed! I generally only play with reg seeds outside due to space

The last time I posted the total of my last grow, it started a mess. lol. A certain few don't believe/like the numbers people are hitting with newer lighting tech.

With these 2 plants I'm expecting just over 1. Probably around 5-6oz each. Only running 5 of the 6 lights this run so about 270w (all separately powered COBs). I could have fit 1 more of these girls.

I don't believe gpw is a good measure of anything though. Too many factors and luck is near the top of the list.

Switching to a medium I could control and understand better, coupled with luck of the draw with beans are what contributed most to my highest yield. It was all by accident. 1 auto (the last one I grew in soil) was even topped (gasp) and still gave me around 6oz. If THAT isn't luck, I dunno. :bigjoint:

Haha, I have seen people get a thorn in their side when it comes to newer stuff...

I haven't used coco before, but see many people using it with great success. I may try it out, why not

I have two 2700k 125 CFL's from Vitalume with reflectors, thinking about adding supplemental side lighting for the heck of it at some point, beneficial or pointless since cobs will kick ass enough?

Keep them handy. COBs only penetrate just so far down. They could help you keep the bottom 12" of a 4 foot plant from dropping off in flower. Happens to me every time. Scared me quite a bit the 1st time. lol

I switched to coco because I had a miserable time trying organic my 1st grow. Way too many mistakes right from mixing it. It was a battle 'til the end. Coco has been a blessing for me. lol.. I DO have some soil cooking for another go though.
