So ive just discoverred that co2 can be produced through fermentation of sugar and yeast in h2o. I was looking around my house for something to use to make a brew chamber and i decided to build 1 out of a garden pump sprayer. it can hold 3 gallons but i will shoot for the coctail to be maybe 2 gallons or so. Im wondering since ive got a fresh air intake could i just feed the co2 hose into the fresh air supply and inturn it will become fresh air enriched with co2. in theory it sounds good. anyone ever tryed this method of co2 pruduction? and is it worth the effort?:bigjoint:

IMHO, I would try to ventilate your grow space as good as you can to improve co2 levels. I think your invention is not going to do much. You would probably get more Co2 lighting a candle. But dont leave that candle lit without supervision!!!!!!!! Good luck :)

So basically the fermentation is a myth? Oh well im gonna try it anyway its a cheap experiment and im bored.

No, its not a myth, and can help. But, dont expect much from all the fuss and muss. But, Heck if you got nothing to do, Go for it, and please post results. Git er done!!! :-P

make sure you tend to this thing closely. I found myself in a similar "im bored and it's something to do" situation once so I built a diy co2 device. since co2 is heavier than air, you are supposed to place the device above your garden. I underestimated exactly what the result was going to be and as a result the shit outgrew its container and leaked all over my grow light and damn near killed my plant. you can see the effects of yeast-and-sugar-water on a plant over the course of about 1 hour if you look through my photos on my profile. good luck, happy gardening.

Cool thanks for the input guys. I just got some yeast and sugar. Gonna try it ill post the results. Also my set up is a 13*6 stud walled and plywood sheated room. all joints are alum taped and walls covered in mylar. got the room split in half right now cause im flowering on 1 sise with 2 600 hps and cloning and vegging on the other. Ive got a good carbon srubber running in the flower room 24/7 and fresh air coming in 24/7 this is gonna be an interesting adition. Holla:leaf::leaf::leaf:

Shit i may have just ivented something. probly not butheres how my experiments going. I got 7 liters of water 7 cups of sugar and 7 one half teaspoons of yeast in a sturdy 4 gallon modified garden pump sprayer. I just took off the trigger wand and fitted a fishtank tubing on it. I ran out of the tubing so just for tonight i put the end of the hose in a glass of water and placed the glass on a bucket about mid high to the plants. in the case it does bubble over it will just waterfall over the top of the glass and to the floor which is watertight and no electric. I placed all the plants around the bucket with the glass that is also infront of the fresh air intake. so it appears that it will produce co2 how much idunno. well see if theres any huge explosion in bud development.

Understand that CO2 is a heavy gas so it will tend to collect at the lowest point of your grow area. A 3 gallon container will produce quite a bit of gas over a period of time, cheaply. The results will be marginal, but they will be there. Remember to dump out half of the contents of the solution when the alcohol goes above 10%. Replace it with more sugar and water. The yeast will still be there and grow more. Also, the yeast will need fresh air so dont keep it in an air tight container for good.

Also keep the solution around 100 degrees and below 115. These are the optimal temperatures for yeast.

Thanks for the info since discovering this method of co2 production ive been learning my brain about brewing beer and might somehow try in the future to build an area where i can brew a batch of beer and release the co2 in a controlled manner to the garden. These little experiments are fun. As im bored to tears laid off and 3 ft deep in snow. As for my original post what ive learned from the brewing process you dont want the coctail to get any h20 as it will or can contaminate the batch. So as for my 3 gallon co2 generator WOW its working. Its bubbling through a glass of water and then releasing into the center of the garden. which currently is 9 plants floweriing week3. I wish my fucking camera wasnt broke. There looking good and as for the experiment it seems to be making them happy and that motha fucka is bubbling!! Almost looks like the water in the glass is boiling. I just wish that i could tell how much co2 this recipe it putting out. So far so good. I made a mini version and stuck it in next to my purple power mother. got some time warp toooooo.
