Hey all, I got the 6 bulb Quantum bad boy. For my last flower I used all 6 2700k bulbs. But I purchased a purple (450nm I believe) and a blue super actinic which peaks at 440 or 430. Should I keep these in for flower? (so 4 2700k and 1 purple and 1 blue) or just stay with 6 2700k?
Typically, most grow bulbs provide ample blue in the 450-550 range. 1/6-8 SA is fine during flower. Also, to max bud size keep 1-2 2700s (I use UVL AquaSuns + quantum Flower) add 1 ZooMed FloraSun +2-3 Red Lifes + one 660

check out hellolights.com , reefgeek.com, and aquarium specialty-- or just do a google search for something like "discount aquarium HO T5"
there's also aquariumguys.com and marine depot and you can always check petsmart/petco in the fish section

Just an fyi for the fellow T5 growers........got an email from http://www.fluorogrow.com/ and you get 10% off using this promo code FGSPECIAL......great build quality and yes made in America!!...........
these things look great....you think better quality than quantum badboy...my thoughts are the major differences look like venting and size (fg is about a pound lighter and a little bit longer but without the venting--which they make the point that the enclosed back means no debris collection but BB makes the point that they fold up easily and vent better ...i assume reflection factor is about the same, but the 4x4 badboy would seem to have better footprint.

anythoughts anybody? anybody compare the two?--just trying to decide because that coupon from psuagro (THANKS MAN!) makes the fg a super tempting audible to call in the 4th qtr.

I can't really compare them for you as I own a hydrofarm designer 2ft 8bulb panel.......But i do believe both bb and fluorogrow premiums run racehorse ballasts, but the quality will be better than BB IMO, according to some growers on here the BB tend to be flimsy, and always buy to smaller panels instead of one large one as stated numerous times in this thread......They are coming out with a 2 ft wide 4 bulb panel soon (according to Dennis/marketing) due to the large requests for it in their web poll, so maybe wait for that..........good luck

Question: How much difference do these lights really make? I grew under cool blues from Home Depot and harvested 5.5oz off a 4' 8 bulb set up, this was my first run and first grow in over 10 years so not sure if that's good or bad. I now have 5 blues and 3 reds (i got at a hydroponic store), but am using it only for veg as I got a 400w hps now.

Wonder if the 2ft fixture will use t5s or PLLs? If t5s, not going to be much light output.

It will be a T5 fixture with 2ft and 4ft lenghts but the width will be large compared to the rest of the market.......light output ?? who knows, but with the right bulbs it may do very well:)

Thanx, no 600 just a 6tube and 4 tube.. I did at a 300w equiv cfl at wk7 just to give a lil more side light.
They finished off round 7ft so i had to tie some over halfway thru flower.

I'm really impressed with the outcome.. Been using t5's for veg a while now and always flowered with a hps..
I knew ia was gonna have heat issues so went with the t5 all the way thru.

Thanx, no prob be glad to let you know the final weight. Really curious myself..
The buds were already dense then they started lil side growths and then those started swelling, so should be some decent weight.
She has 4 main branches from where i topped her so she has 4 colas like the 1 in the pic..
THer's 2 side by side that i call the twin towers..lol

Sorry for delay.. Was looking for tubes the bulbs came in, can't remember if they were 3500 or 2700..
Anyway, i started with 4-6500's 2-2700's during veg. ran that thru 2nd wk of flower then gradually switched out until i had the reverse 4-2700's and 2-6500's
