Closet Refrigeration / Air Conditioning

Hi there! I was curious about the prospect of air conditioning a small closet space to maximize the amount of light I can potentially put inside. (Like upgrading to 1000w HPS)

I have a small closet that is good for, at best, 8 plants. There is no potential for installing a venting system or fans to the outside. I'm stuck with what I've got. There is no access to an outside wall, and I need to be careful.

That said, does anybody know how to air-condition my closet? All I want is a small air-conditioning unit of some kind that can be entirely in the closet, not take up too much space, and not be noisy.

What have others done? I'm curious. Thanks.

don't think such a critter exists. an air conditioner is a heat exchanger- it removes the heat so it has to send it somewhere.even a fridge has coils on the back to let heat out.
is your closet above a basement or below an attic? can u vent up or down?
either way, a 1000 watt light is overkill for a small closet (unless you consider 4x4 small) consider a 4-600 watt light.

BEST BET and what I have done is run a hose from my house a/C unit to my closet with a vent cover so it looks like an ordinary A/C . I have 4x4x8 area keeps it cool all day.

Run a duct from the bottom of the room or something. Hot air rises. So its cooler down low... Run it through the light via cool tube then vent to attic, Clear
any debris. Install a couple fans. One on each end, 1 to push, 1 to pull...
Theyre cheap on ebay and work good. I also run a box Fan in the corner to keep air moving.

Can you lower the temp of the room the closet is in with a window AC? That may be your key. Once you get coool air in the room around the closet, all you need is some circulation into the closet with maybe a fan.

im not sayin you cant but not everyone is in the room everyday and a bucket will fill up quick so you have to constantly check on it.
