Closet Grow Space Construction Journal

So Ill be starting the construction of my closet grow as soon as the semester ends on Friday. I plan on documenting throughout the construction on here. I know its a bit early to make this thread but I'm to excited to wait. Please any input/ suggestions would be helpful.

Closet is about 3*4*8. Ill get exact measurements as soon as i can.

Lighting will be one 400 hps/mh setup from htg

For odor control i'll be constructing my own carbon filter and pumping the air into the attic (attic entry is in the closet). I'm hoping to go for anything over 50 cfm.

air intake will be done passively through a hole in the attic entry. It's pretty cold in the attic so Im hoping it will be cool enough to deal with the heat from the lamp, if not I'll have to figure something else out.
So stay tuned in the next few days, any suggetsion/tips/pointers?

Gonna stay tuned for this one. I am starting a grow with a 2x8x8 closet split into two rooms. Thinking the same idea 2 ducts coming from the attic exhaust and intake. I'm not sure but was leaning towards a 4 inch 150 cfm can fan since its about 140sq ft and splitting the ducting for each room. Might get a booster fan for the intake but not sure if that would be useful. So far looks good burnonedown.

Yea I'm not sure if I want a fan for intake yet, I'm thinking that the pressure created by the outgoing fan will just suck enough air in so why waste the money/electricity

The only reason why I was thinking a booster fan for intake, might have like 15-20 feet of ducting. I think the one I was looking at only used 12-25 watts. But the vacuum pressure from the exhaust should be enough if funds run out...

so what do you guys think of the idea of having a cool tube connected to the carbon filter via a y connector and then putting an electric thermostat to turn the cool tube fan on when it gets to hot and off if it gets to cold. Would this be able to keep the temps balanced. I'm asking this b/c the air in the attic is cold now but when things start to warm up this spring that air can get pretty hot and I would rather have a system in place from the beginning to deal with this change in temp. Hope you can understand this, ill try and make a diagram or something.

started work on the closet this morning. So far I've hung the light and sealed the closet from light leaks along with a few other things. My shelf has about a 2.5' space above it so I decided that it would make the perfect cfl grow space for vegging and smaller flowering. I fired up my 400w hps, it looks like I'm going to need a supplemental heater. I'm about to run to home depot to pick up some stuff. I'll put some pics up later today.
