Close to harvest?

Here's Chiclet day 63/64 of flowering, trichomes are almost all 100% cloudy and am unsure of when to harvest but thinking no later then day 70, thoughts?

Tops are as thick as 3/4 fingers put together ;p

If they are all cloudy it's good to go but if you want a lazy buzz I'd wait til they are 40% amber too

The picture quality is kinda low so its hard to tell but it looks like you wanna wait at least two more weeks before you harvest them. Thats good if the all trics are cloudy but to get the full effect of the bud your gonna want to wait till you see about 1/4 amber trics. Also if the majority of the hairs on the bud are still white or cloudy you want to wait for most of them to turn dark. For sure wait at least two more weeks, youll be glad you did. Also if you harvest to early then you wont get that good taste when you smoke it. I did that for my first grow with white widow because i was eager to harvest. Bud smoked good but it tasted like grass.

don't fall for the amber myth. amber = degradation. 40% amber and you may as well be smoking mexican schwag. a little amber is cool. not more than that. plus rep. nice little nuggies

I chop mine at mostly cloudy. Personally don't give a shit for amber trichs. Beautiful flowering specimen you have there though. Do you have any higher resolution pics I can admire?

Thanks for all the advice and compliments guys, giving it one final flush tomorrow and then harvesting in a few days after a 48 hour dark period. WISH I had a better camera to provide pictures, i'll see what I can do.

Nice looking crop, I found that at the time of harvest for my Purple Kush (day 70) I could not hardly find an amber tricome. I have a lab microscope and went for 70%-80% milky. I read a thread that said some strains don't readily go amber when they are ready. Anybody else have any experience with this(not going amber that is)?

Those are some chunky buds man. Post some pics after harvest and of final weight! How much do you expect to get from her?

hairs may turn brown as they recede into bud...

How much longer do you suggest waiting? All the lower buds are 50/50 pistols or 40/60(amber) and are receding into the bud. It's just the tops that look 50/50 but not receding yet.

pull a bud put it on ur ballast quick dry if u like chop her down

Your plant will tell you....
No new white hairs...
White hairs existing on plant will recede back into bud
Bud will plump up...
Window of harvest opens...

The color of hairs has nothing to do with when to harvest...

Take a sample of a small bud from 7-8" down...
You need:
Small Micro wave bowl with lid and paper towel

Put cut bud on top of dry paper towel into microwave safe bowl
Wet paper towel on top
set lid loosely on top

set power for 30-40 %

set time for 25 seconds or less....

Watch it go round...might need to go round a couple of cycles... and might kill taste, but "HIGH" will be the same as if you harvested... today...
If ya get a good high... harvest... if not wait....
It's your plant...

has nothing 2 do with the plant getting bigger.... the fuck it just takes time for it to get all the way to its full potential.

Thanks for all the help and tips guys . Tried a lower nug and dried it using the method you mentioned, taste wasn't that bad considering the method and the high was good. Was an energetic head high that lasted for about 20 minutes. Think i'm going to give it a few more days bringing it close to day 70 of flower. Thanks again guys, appreciated.
