Cloning

ya you want to clone within the first 21 days of flowering so you dont have to spend extra time reverting it back to veg... if u take a clone after the first 21 days when flowers are showing it will take a little extra time to revert back to veg but this way it will be "monster cropped" its called.. there will be lots of tops.. they make great mothers go to my current grow in my signature at the bottom of my post and go to the last couple pages u will see pics of my monster cropped ladies

I have a question about cloning just hit me quick, has anyone had any problems on moms that have preflower hairs showing rooting fast? My younger plant rooted faster than my mom this week just curious

if i understand correctly then i would say yes... mothers that are still revegging from flower that are cloned root faster ive noticed aswell

Well, She hasnt ever been flowered she just showing her hairs. But yeah maybe thats what it was.
i dont see how your mother plant would be showing her hairs then.. the only reason i would assume shes showing her hairs is becuz you sexed it.. which is flowering anyways... but either way if i got what ur saying right then yes clones that are taken from a plant that is revegging root quicker.. im sure there are more experienced growers that can help you with this then me.. but i have noticed that aswell, hope this answers ur question/helps.

If you have to do it yes you can, but its not a good practice to do for your grow. Like dont work this into your rotation.

Just use it in an emergency to keep genetics.

i disagree depending on the type of grow your practicing, it all depends on space, yeild, how many you wana grow in what etc. obv. but in this case PERFECT mothers bro.. there will be like 20 tops to this bitch if u keep cloning her.. put her under a 1000watt MH for a week you'll have another 10 clones to take right way lol..

The reason why its not good to take clones from plants in flower is that it speeds up genetic drift.

Thanks for all the responses. I went ahead and took a couple of clones so i could keep the genetic around. I took them on Friday and as of today they are looking a little droopy, I’m assuming this is because they're in shock plus they are trying to reveg. At this point, I’m not going to stress over it as I know this is super stressfull for the little girls. I’ll keep everyone posted on their status and let you know how quickly I see roots. I cut them at a 45-degree angle, peeled off the outer layer of the steam, sliced up the steam about a quarter inch, dipped in roottec rooting hormone, and planted in rapid rooter cubes. They are sitting in the humidity dome under 65W CFL daylight bulbs 24hr lights, temps have been between 90-95 degree Fahrenheit and humidity sits around 95-97%.

i think i would wait longer but

Im growin for a while now two years --and i took my first clones three of them now i started with 5--they are 5.3 weeks from transplant

1 i just stuck one of them into flower, the room is so scarce one white widow at about 3 1/2 weeks of flower and a rez chemdog sour diesel week 10.2 of a 70 to 77 day term i always take the longer date in a situation like this and look at my trichs and ripeness of bud at that point

in my veg closet is a resv priv-headband and #18. i also have two more clones in there they were taken week 3 of flower and just converted back to their sarrated leaves so ready now

i pollenated the mother plant it looks and smells devine but i did two lower branches if i dont get seeds i plan to dust the clone i just threw into 12/12

you see its a long story hereis the short version --i bought a 10 pack of rez chemdog sour diesel thegerm rate was shit i paid a buck ninty for the ten and ended up with 1 female and a sunted male. i gambled and took its pollen the rest of the story you know

letitgrow it sounds like you did/are doing everthing right.. i hope u didnt trim the leaf fingers.. i learnt that it just invites disease and why stress the plant out more right. and i forget if you told me or not but... do u have the 50 rapid rooter tray and humidity dome? thats exactly what i have and it works great im just sticking with that and soil for now till i learn some more and get some more funds..

and Dw.. $190 for 10 seeds (if i got that right, mad high right now) thats fucking crazy man.

Nope i didnt cut the leaves, i never have, and they always do just fine. I checked on them a few minutes ago and they have started to perk up! So far so good!! Honestly, im not too worried about them, i think they will pull through just fine and become some beatiful ladies in the next couple of weeks! yeah, i have the 50 pack of rapid rooters. I start them in the humidty dome with RR, then once i see a few roots sticking out i move them into my DIY Aeroponic/bubble cloner to veg for a few weeks, and then move them into my big DWC system to flower. They system has been working great for me, however, ive been wanting to try Scroging, but cant really figure a good way of doing that with my DWC system. I've been looking into a coco soilless set up for the scrog.
