Cloning

Hey folks,

I've started this thread because I've been curious about the success of other individuals with cloning and what method they use. So, if you would, please share a little bit with us about your cloning methods.

What hormone do you use?
What temperature/conditions are the clones in?
What media do you plant the clones in?
What is your success rate (~%) for clones?
Etc....

crappy wal mart powder peat pellets heat pad humidity dome spray once a day w/ distilled phd water w/ a few drops superthrive per litre, moisten pucks when needed. NEVER DRY OUT THE PUCK. 12 days max. couple drops hydrogen peroxide per gallon of water soaking the pellets originally.

I use rootech gel ,rapid rooters keep in a humidity dome for about 7-10 days and all my clones root.Ive been cloning the same plant for going on a year now and havent had no problem with rooting clones.

There's treachery afoot
I cut the clones and place in a cup of water then use a scapel to scrape the top layer off of the end of the stem to increase the rooting surface, dip in rooting poweder, then plant in scotts organic potting soil. Water with a dilute mixture or rooting powder and water. Works like a charm and have been cloning the same mother for six years now with only one clone that did not root.

i guess it depends on your strain. I've read tons of stuff about how to meticulously clone. Even pros claim they have a 95% success if they do everything perfectly. I've done about 50 now without losing one and I've tried all methods from doing by the book to just cutting with rusty scissors and tossing into tap water - no hormone, not even a warm room, 24 hour light, and clipped from a flowering plant. I just can't seem to kill my clones. I assume it is my strain that is hardy. They can take up to 3 weeks though to root.

root hormone: Schultz powder
soil mix: damp, extremely light, approx. 1/2 dirt, 1/2 peat + some perlite.
container: bathroom dixie cups w/ holes in bottom, inside shoebox sized plastic container, loose plastic wrap for humidity.
light: 2 20w fluorescents about 4-6 inches away, 24/7.
temp: 75-80 degrees F or so.
technique: make diagonal cut under water to prevent air bubbles before dipping in root hormone; exchange air every day.
time: about 10 days. watch for new growth. I find that new growth doesn't start until roots have formed.
success: close to 100%.

What hormone do you use? rootx power

What temperature/conditions are the clones in? a transparent dome ( temp never bothered me).... i humidify the dome abt 5-7 times a day... 1- 25 w 6500k cfl 24/7....

What media do you plant the clones in? soil

What is your success rate (~%) for clones? abt 90%

i cut the stem at an angle.... scrape off a bit of stem....leave in RO water for 5 min.... cut lower fan leaves off and upper in half.... apply power and plant...
ive been cloning 4 strains with the same process....
