Cloning in straight tap water or RO water has worked as well for me as with any cloning gel or solution, and many, many others have had that same experience. You can do fine with just water.

i've been cloning with plain water. i got the idea from my friend's polish mom's old school technique. it's a little slow. it can take a month to get good roots but it works and its cheap and easy.

a bottle of clonin gel isn't too expensive is it? if so, why not stew up some weeping willow hormone elixir?

if your looking for an accelerated natural solution, just put some cuttings from a willow tree in the water.... it's a natural cloning agent.

You didn't mention the time interval between when you plugged your clone and when the root appeared. With that said plain water....even tap water....will definitely work...though it will take a bit longer.

read what people are saying..it can be done without it and is done without it by lots of people including vendors for co-ops..however the cloning gel gives your plants certain hormones (steroids) so clones that are not dipped into solution have a thinner trunk/stems..shit even thinner leafs, at least the one's i've seen...and yea it might take a day or two longer for them to root.

I thought everyone just used plain water for cloning?

Maybe add a few drops of B1 for good measure, but that is optional.
