Cloning Questions on establishing mother

Ok, i will be having at least 6 seedlings coming up in the next week.
i should wait till the plant gets to about 20" before attemting to clone ?


Then i cut a clone put sure root on stem, and be growing in soil.
can i just start it on 12/12 light immediately? i want to establish sex and get rid of all the males asap.

im interested on this also, how long do you have to drow before you can sex?

I waited until i was 16, but i hear kids these days are starting younger & younger. & most evangelicals will tell you to wait 'til you're married

But seriously, good questions. If i had to guess I would say you want to use a humidity dome & not worry about sexing it until you are sure you have some time to get a root system. Do it like a normal clone you were trying to keep & grow & when you get roots & it's to the point it could be transplanted then go for 12/12 & sexing. That's what I'd do if it were me, but maybe it's not nesicary & someone else can fill us in.

I'd also like to ask another question that's related to cloning. & that is how may mothers (size?) would i need to get 24 clones every 4 weeks? & how many cuttings need to be taken to get 24 successes, like what's the success/fail %? I realize it will be not as good for a first time cloner but ballpark figures will work.

you CAN clone a plant as soon as it has a cloneable offshoot...there is no real limit...just dont take the ONLY one...i would say anything over a foot is more then okay to use..
