Cloning question

OK so I've never comes before and I just put a cutting in rooting powder and straight on to wet soil. She seems to be doing fine. So my question is do I have to keep the soil really wet or is moist fine?

Temp and RH are big factors,
I find 80/80 works great +- 2
78-82 degrees
78-82 Relative humidity.

You can make a tent with a clear plastic bag, use a couple of straws around the plant to keep bag off foliage and a rubber band on your container.

Soil that is to damp will not allow root growth and of course to dry and the plant dies.

My first time cloning was exactly as I described above and for temp and light I kept it on a plate on my cable box for warmth and the ambient light was more than sufficient.

Light can be as little as a single bulb.

I am not a soil grower anymore.

Enjoy!

Just keep it moist, but let it dry out and then feed it from the base, so the roots go looking for the water.

Spray the clone twice a day and keep humidity high.

Id say you'll have no problems. Cloning is one of the easiest things to do.

image.jpeg I agree w kiwipaulie,
Cloning is a easy to do.

I cut 16 clones 10 days ago, 9 were rooted today and
I placed the 1" cubes into 4" cubes.
They came from a Hooded environment and I will keep them under a humidity hood with vents partially open for 4-5 days.

My light is a 4 bulb 90 watt T5, it creates all the heat I need and I get my humidity from a bowl of water and the fluid in the rock wool.

I stopped spraying my clones and I get better results Keeping the foliage dry.

Since I use rock wool I dip the bottoms of my cubes in a 100 ppm solution of Olivias cloning solution and Rapid start.

25 PPMs rapid start root enhancer
75 PPMs Olivia's cloning solution
In 1 gallon of water PH adjusted to 5.8

I pre soak my cubes in the same solution before I insert a clone.
Out of about 75 clones that I have made in 3 years I only lost 4.

Now I am doing a SOG so I am cutting lots of clones, I am up to 25 plants and I will be adding another 16 in about 10 - 14 days.

SOG is new to me as is growing in just rock wool.
In 2 -3 weeks I get my 1st 4 plants, 3 double Berry and one Widow.
They started flower on 3/3.

Never had much success cloning in soil. When I got an aerocloner I was able to see roots in as little as four days. Never turned back after that.
