Cloning during flowering?

HI,


So I was given a 400 Watt HPS light to use and we made my closet a grow room. My question is now i have 3 plants 1 that is 18 inches high and starting to bud. 2 weeks in. And 2 seedlings that are 4 inches high and are also on a 12/12 cyle. My firend wants some clones from the 18 inch plant for giving me the light. can he take a clone or two from the budding plant and than re-veg my plant for a few weeks or should i just let him top it and contine budding my plant
/ what is the best course of action here? thanks

Just take 2 cuttings off the 18 inch plant, put those cuttings into rooting mode and make them into clones,flower out the 18 inch plant, do not reveg.

thankds dude. also my friend wants to take the top from my budding plant. but that's where the buds are coming. He says the lower brances will grow colas inst4ead since its topped. Where shoul dhe take the cuttings from ? i was thinking the side and lower branches. Thanks
