is this an acceptable way of aquiring plants? and can anyone get in trouble for taking donations on either side of the fence caregiver/patient?

I have used craigslist for clones awhile back but it isn't something I would do again. 99% sure that's where I acquired the wonderful gift of root aphids(NOT). Alot of people around here have grow rooms with some pretty rough conditions, you would be better off starting from seed or getting them from someone you know personally and is comfortable showing you their room. but that's just my opinion.

Yep. Craigslist is kick ass, and you can find great people doing things legitimate, but there are some real assholes that have access to craigslist also.

find someone in your vicinity from here, prolly safer..

Make sure you quarantine the plants for a long time. And this is the only time i would recommend using pesticides. Have a full dunk of floramite and eagle 20 ready at home. And some way to soak the entire root ball in a neem oil solution to see if root aphids start crawling out. If you see root aphids throw them away. Use a disposable phone and fake gmail account. You really dont want to bring pest in, and the will have pest. Let us know if you get a great strain though. good luck

Also, don't be afraid to ask alot of questions. ex. how long have you had the strain, how many seeds did you sort through to find a keeper, what do you use for pest prevention.. if the guy is legit he won't have any problems answering questions.

consider listing your general area, give or take 50 miles, maybe someone can help you. Are you completely starting over?

no not completely i do have a couple of strains. just concidering others when the time comes but my other issues is i would rather get a seed cause i know what it is 100% and what to sort of expect except the pheno types but on the other side of things i have to start a lil slower and ween out the phenos i like or prefer and so on lol all the enjoyments of growing and staying in your limit haha!

I don't know about that seed thing you said, I've been cracking seeds and spending $$$$$ for a good long time and I got 2 plants that I call keepers. blew through 2 x10 packs each of ICE, NORTHERN LIGHTS, WHITE WIDOW, CRYSTAL, ROYAL HASH, ACID, BUBBLELICIOUS AND AK-48 and I got one ice and one acid that i think are titties and the rest are DEAD and GONE. I've never bought a clone before because all the signs on the disp windows around here are total BULLSHIT just trying to get me in the door or whatever. its all about who you trust man, I thought I trusted dutch breeders, now I don't. I thought I'd have better luck then I did. I don't trust craigslist either and obviously the disp or care clubs are BS'in they don't even have any and they r advertising they do, so from my point of view you're picking the lesser of all evils and it's a fucking 3 way tie!

I believe the importance of genetics is overlooked by many. IMHO it is well worth the investment to pick 2/3 strains, from 2/3 breeders and you should quickly have a few that really stand out. Good and bad. Then you have something to work with. Many breeders are working on better medical strains, it is good to know which breeders you can trust.

I ran with bagseed for the longest time and thought I was doing well with it. THEN I got balls enough to order some.....while I do complain there is no comparision between some random accident seeds from a bag of good shit and some purpose bred seeds from a breeder. genetics makes ALL the diff. I learned alot doing bag seed, weird deficiencies and finicky plants got me growing good then BANG real genetics and my eyes are wide open now. with the access to pot now its easy to think oh he just bought a seed dropped it in and bang DANK! That is so far from the truth, it's still a hunt for the holy grail all the time but breeders purpose bred seeds is the only way to hunt for the good stuff aside from a trusted source for cuts. Please know what someone went thru to get a good plant when you bitch about your 30 dollar cut and as for breeders; when they are legit and trustworthy you're looking at a decade to get a stable strain that's real good stuff bred out to where they can finally sell the seeds.

Good advice, definitely drench the clones in some sort of pesticide as soon as you get home, I prefer AzaMax. You also need to treat the clones again 4 days later and again another 4 days after that, each time soaking the medium that the roots are in and the entire plant including the top and bottom of the leaves.
