My experience is that heatpads usually get too hot. Some of my clones were droopy a few days after cutting as well. After a year fucking around with rapid rooters (with which i had my best success), rockwool, and dirt i decided to build an areocloner, and i must say it is truly amazing.

For those who dont know, an areocloner uses a pump to spray/mist the cutting. The most common is the EZ Clone machine, which is quite pricy. If you search areocloners you will find many threads on how to make one that copys the EZ clone design using a rubbermaid tote.

It works way better then i expected. I use no dome at all and my clones never wilt. In fact, they sit in the veg room (20%-30% RH) with fans blowing on them, right next to the mothers under a MH, and they look like they are still growing throughout the whole process. I have nearly 100% succcess with roots top to bottom of an 18 gal tote in about 2 weeks. Highly recommend making one or buying the EZ clone if your too high.

The ONLY time i seen a clone wilt in this system was when i was stoned at harvest time and forgot to plug the pump back in after inspecting the roots. About 18 hours later i turned the pump back on and all clones survived anyway. cant say enough about areocloning as it has changed the way i take clones! :weed:
