Heya, i have a chance to get my hands on some clones. my questions is how effective is growing cuttings from cuttings?

and should i buy 2 clones and keep one for breeding and the other for newer clones?

genetics in that clone are going to stay the same no matter how many times you cut from it. The secret to sucess is clones need time to develop.

not really sure what your setup is but if you have a multi plant flower room i would suggest Vegging the hell out them 2 clones then lollpopping them and getting as many clones as you will ever need, then putting both into flower...rinse and repeat..

think about it this way. how do you think clone only strains exist for years and years?? if they had any lack of potency or w/e is rumored, there really wouldn't be a market for all of these elite cuttings of clone only strains imo.. :D

Thanks Im asking cos i think i heard that if you get a cutting off a cutting you will yield less each time. i guess that was misinformation.

yes, yes it was.. clones are an exact copy of the plant they were taken from, which is what makes them so nice.. so long as you give clones a proper veg time, they will yield nicely for you imo.. strain dependent of course.. :D

I believe what is capable of happening over time is that the genetics get tired. After years, and stress I believe the genetics slow down often times. I've been running White Widow from the original seed and mother for 4 years now. Some of the guys on here have had strains for 10-20+ years. The better you take care of your plants, I believe the longer the genetics will probably last. I think the harder you are on the plants the harder it will be to keep them going over a long period. They will likely get harder to clone, and perhaps more likely to get diseases. I'm not a botanist yet, so I could be wrong here but I think that's about how it works.

Peace, TC

the biggest problem i have had with clones/from clones. over a few generations, has been they tend to get lanky on me, then they require a lot of topping to create bushes again.
also when they get really tired, buds start getting fluffier than normal. jus my observations.
