Clones Die....

hi there again...

So i've been having issues with cloning

Im useing:
Rockwoll.(soaked in ph6.5 water for 24 hours then squeezed to remove 80% of the liquid.(edit)
Humidity dome.
Rooting powder.

i will explain my process to see if anyone can help me determine whats going wrong...

I take a cutting off the mother and place them directly into a cup of PH'ed water. while i take more cuttings.

Once i have 5 or so cuttings i begin by taping off extra water and dipping into rooting powder once dipped i place the cutting into a RW cube and gently press it in and press the edges of the cube to the stalk.

I place the clones in a humidty dome and place it in a dark place ( still some light but not direct by any means) each day i exchange the air and mist if they require it.

So far i've attempted this 3 times now with all the clones doing the exact same thing. Around day 4 -5 then begin to show signs on the main new growth leaves turning a brownish purple color. shortly after this is spotted the clone falls over and dies.
@ first i thought mabey to high of humidity so i left my dome off about an inch to let fresh air exchange. Same thing happened. all dead. So i though mabey they need light sooner... so this last batch went 3 days in the dark then right under some floros Same result. all dieing.

The way it's getting gross from the inside out I would guess some sort of pathogen, as if it were just the plant dying it should be from the outside in, or all together... That said, I got nothing further... :/

pre soak your rockwool at 5.5 ph buy advanced nutrients' "jump start" from your hydro shop. take a cutting and then make a slit in the stem one inch long right in the middle of the stem going upwards. then dip your cutting in your hormone and put it in the cube and spray it down good with your jump start solution(ph it to 5.5). don't let your cut sit in water. once you have all of your cuttings in your dome, place your dome on a heat mat and under your light. leave them alone for five days only taking off the dome to quickly spray your jump start solution once a day, spray your cubes if they are getting dry. after five days you will want to give your cuts five minutes of fresh air a day as well as spray them with the jump start solution. you will see roots popping strongly in a week to two weeks depending on strain. I have one hundred percent success with all of my cuts. the whole 45 degree angle cut never got me the results like the one inch cut up the middle of the stem. if you cut them right and spray them daily give them heat and light they will root.

also if you need to prop up your clones with a toothpick. they may fall over this happens but it doesn't mean its dead as long as its green its alive. the reason they are turning brown or purple is not a pathogen its because you put them in a dark place they do need direct light use some cheap florecents from a hardware store.

If your growing in soil try pete pellets. Always does the trick for me. As far as light goes try using one CFL (blue spectrum) about a foot away, they dont need much light to root but they do need some. Once the root pops out drop the whole thing in your pot. I also cut my clones from the bottom and make the incision near a node that I can peel away to expose more of the stem. I dont use any nutes but Advaned does make some that support root grow. I also mist once a day. Got 10 out of 10 to root last time. Good luck.

This is an easy way to do some cuts.First a healthy plant in veg with some good branching, side and top views.
I use an old cutting board,a rusty razor, sharp fine pointed scissors and roottech gel.
You don't need any hormones at all to take cuts successfully but it speeds up the process and the plants are less beat up by the time they root.
How the branch looks removed with nodes attached and stripped off,I just pinch them off be careful not to kink the stem.......kinking is bad.
Stick in gel let sit for 30 seconds or so.
In this case I'm using peat pellets but it'll work in just about anything that will keep the cut from drying out while it's rooting.
Soak the pellets overnight or they'll suck the moisture outta the cuts with bad results.
Poke hole in pellet, stick cut all the way down again careful not to kink the stem.
Form pellet around stem,gently.......then dunk in water to replace what ya squeezed out by forming then put in a dome.I'm using a cake box, they come in a huge variety of shapes and sizes plus ya getta cake.......fucking A.
In this case they're about 12"s under a 42 watt cfl, just leave'em alone they don't like being messed with.
Roots take anywhere from 5 to 15 days depending on plant and temp,I will take some pics and explain how I quick harden them off and pot'em when these root.
Now the donor plant provided 6 cuts and has 4 main branches, ready to be up-potted and flowered tomorrow.

looks like the plants r rotting? do u have soil? can u try ur same methods using soil? maybe it is something about those cubes. Nevver used them myself, always clone directly in soil, using gel rooter, no problems. I just cant see that anything u r doing would cause that.

heres what i do ,3000 lumens in a tote, poke holes on lid..i cut the cutting..dip in cloning powder..put in peat pellet. put in box. spary with 5.5 6.0-ph water.i have the box on a timer 18/6 after about a week i transplant in to organic soil..i dont know how it would work in rock-wool because i start from seed in my bubbleponics....

heres a picture of where i got the idea from..it was off this site.looks like the guy had rock-wool in his tote..well all i know is it works for me..if you do hydro all the time i would build a cloner machine its easy..5 gallon bucket, water pump,pvc,misters,2" net pots, and your p-much good to go..
