So I have 5 clones about 3 weeks in soil. Bout a foot tall. Prob Is they will have to veg for 9 weeks. Or they are trash and a waste of time. So my ? Is how small have you been able to keep plants in veg. For me everything blows up around week 3-4 no matter how much I top and tie. Maybe two will fit by week 5. (2x4) tent.

By topping and cloning, I commonly keep mother plants for several months, and they stay under 1.5' tall. Very bushy and round, but I keep them short.

i;m kind of confused about this post tbh..
i don't understand why you'd think they're trash for one thing...
umm, but yeah, you can keep a plant in veg for a pretty long time so long as you give them enough light to keep them from flowering..
you can also look into things like scrog, screen of green, or lst, low stress training, or even main lining, to keep your plants small enough for your space..

Because I won't have a flower room available for 9 weeks. In my experience. They are monsters by week 5. If they get that big in veg then they'd be unmanageable in flower. We'll see. I'll keep topping and lst. See how small I can keep em.

Pot size/shape is important when you have to sculpt a plant into a certain shape. To keep her small, veg in a small pot that is wider than it is tall. Short pots tell the plant there is not a lot of room for a big rootball. So the plant concentrates on growing sideways instead of up. Top or FIM the top crown only. If you trim a lot of side branches that tells the plant to grow taller. Of course, smaller pots for smaller plants. I would top her now. You'll get 2 main colas and will likely have to top them also.

A lot of growers don't realize that the more a plant grows in veg mode the less she will stretch while flowering. When I veg my indicas until they are just 18-22 inches I can count on plant height to double during flowering. If I veg for 6 weeks she will be 26-30 inches going into 12/12 and will finish at 50 inches or so.

Good luck, BigSteve.
