Clone Wars

My blueberry plants all turned out to be female, 7 plants in all. After doing a little test with the big bud I decided to try some blueberry clones. I took 5 plants and made 14 cuttings. I trimmed them at an angle, gently scraped off about 1/2" on the outside layer, applied Olivia's Cloning Gel to the hole of the wet rock wool and covered where I had scraped on the clone and plugged them in the rock wool. Each one of them has a little bud; not a bad way to start life huh? I put them in with the experimental big buds that are in soil. These will remain in the rock wool started cubes and then put on 3", and finally a 6" cube. The 6" cube will be put on a shallow bed of hydroton in a container for the grow closet. These are starting their new life under 65w multi-spectrum CFL's. In about 2-3 weeks these will go under HPS, 12/12.

The clones in the cups are the big bud experiment; they are in soil.

Mr I Can Do That For Half
Hmmm will wtach this one as my BB is a bitch and a half to clone. It usually take 10 plus days to fully root if it works and I have yet to get a BB clone with olivias gel.I have went back to powders as the gel doesnt work to well get about 70% successs with gels and around 97% with powders.I clone directly to rockwool cubes then into domes closed lids and use 2 2 foot shop lights with a piece of mylar draper over to add heat and humidity.

damn... I wish I had known that about the powders Fletch. Oh well... These come from very hardy little stock.
